"Cheating"

Is it possible to "cheat" in this game? If there are no rules posted anywhere, are there still things we can do as agencies or as individual players that are generally viewed as unacceptable? If so, does anyone want to give them away by discussing them openly? Could we and should we come up with rules, and if so, how would they be enforced?

I know some ppl here view agencies that use doubles or fire and hire technique as "cheaters". Personally I dont think this is cheating because there are no rules against it. Those agencies just use the possibilities that the game offers. If ben thinks this shouldnt be done he can change the rules.
I wouldnt do it, not because its wrong but because its too much work and too expensive. I think that other agencies who have problems with this techniques could just use it themselves if they want and stop complaining about it in PMs.
(here is the place where everybody shouts at me)
If you are not willing to do it yourself cause it takes too much time, it still doesnt mean this is cheating.
If you still think its cheating just ask ben to fix it and see what he says.

I think cheating is when you find a loop hole in the programme or when you write a code that lets you do something that no one can.
Using the game as it is and using a startegy is in my opinion not cheating. Even if you are the only person doing it.
I dont believe we need any new rules here. I belive that if someone has a problem they should just say it. The "behind the back" complaints are just hearting us. This also hearts the ones that do try to adress it.
jstkdn was just starting a disscusion because she got too many PMs about something. Now she feels like everyone was attaking her. I know its not the case (and she doesnt know im writing this) but it would be better to just openly disscus things then PM around.

I hope I was clear, its a bit hard for me to express what I think. So if you dont get it plz just tell me before you start PMing around about me ;)

I think you were very clear, Reda. And I agree.

Yes, we need to openly discuss these things.

I think that doubles are perfectly fine. That has been discussed before many times and there is currently a programed rule for only 2 detectives from one IP address per agency. Thus rule is great and fine the way it is. It stops people from creating an agency full of themselves.

About moving back and forth through fire and hire (good name reda!), why is it wrong? I will not name names, but I have had 2 people from /different/ agencies come over and help me out. They did not have the favor we needed. They did, however, give us some cases to hopefully get us that favor.

Now, about having two agencies compiled into one, what is wrong about that? The game allows it. It can be done. It will be done. I don't think doing something the game allows is cheating.

Now, what is cheating? Cheating is hacking the system, finding a loop hole, making a loop hole, etc. Cheating is not doing something that is tecnically allowed. Reda, I totally agree that everything is fine as it is. If someone has a problem with something someone is doing, then OPENLY talk about it.

I don' think there is much to say from me.

Ok, I know I haven't been playing as long as alot of people playing on here, but I do LOVE playing, But I do know if there isn't anyone subscribing to this site that it will not go on(CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG). Yes im a member of BLACK SWAIN, but i'm posting this message from my point of veiw, not from theres. If I had my way, an agency could only solve 3 hunts a day, that way it would be fare for other smaller agency to have a chance at solving a hunt. We have to keep everyone interested in the game, that way the game can go on. 2 AGENCYs working as 1 is unfair, and I DON'T agree with it. Most people don't have the time to play this game like alot of us, so its not a option for them to use 2 agencys.

I like the idea of being able to do 3 hunts a day! Maybe it should only be 2!

Now, about two agencies, if I have the time and will to do it, then I will and can. It is very possible and tecnically allowed through the game. Many wouldn't agree with it, but as far as I'm concerned, there is nothing stopping anyone from doing it.

I think jstkdn original thread was to do with game conduct not cheating and this was developed with the intention of improving the game and encouraging new subscribers. And if there we're or are grey areas to clear them up.

i know that is an old thread but is it possible to find out where the lucys cabaret is, after talking to larry, by just pressing the tab button until it lights up? cause if it is possible, that pretty much would be considered cheating.
