With the firm application of bolt cutters the rusty padlock on the gates of the Boardwalk has been prised off. For a small fee at the ticket booth Detectives can take some down time to wander around the Boardwalk.

Whilst familiarising yourselves with the layout is a great idea, the real meat of the Boardwalk is the Carousel Furore; the times for these are listed on the case tab. The main way to get tickets is by solving cases at Really Really Hard or above in difficulty (the higher the difficulty, the better your chances). Your best chances of getting a ticket are an hour before a Furore is due to start, but if the tickets are gone they're gone.

Finally there is a second type of ticket; a back-up ticket. They will not be hard to find.

Happy sleuthing, and as ever please let me know when the bugs crop up and I'll deal with them ASAP.

Or for GMT+2 :)) It's either 11.30 the first one, which I can't do. 20soemthing which is kid bedtime or 2AM which if I'm up at that hour it's because I'm working.

For the time being there'll be four games a day, which split the day into four chunks then pick a time randomly in each chunk for the game. The idea is that some days you'll have conveniently timed games, other days you won't, but no one will miss games every single day due to their time zone.

As you see, the time totally falls into the working time which means I can only participate in it on the weekend.

Can you just adjust the 1st case to 3 or 4 AM? Because the time from the 1st to the second is quite long while the others are short. If you can adjust the same regular distances for each event, I think it will be better for people around the world to have a chance.

That's how it's fallen this time Tyrano, but it's done randomly. They're not always at those times, which you'll see as more games are planned.

That said I am going to adjust the formula for the time picking, so we'll see if that helps.

I understand that the time is just randomly. I am OK with it. What I mean is the distance from each event should be the same.

For example: we have 4 events per day. So the duration between them should be 6 hours. Since people usually can have more than 6 hours continuously free per day (not work or sleep), it's will be always helpful for them to pick at least 1 event per day.

In this case: the time at 1st event is around 4-5 pm here which I still have to work. Then the next is 8-9 hours later which is very late here and I have to sleep. If it's just 6 hours, it's quite suitable for me to join.

Under that system it wouldn't always be 8-9 hours. Sometimes it'd be just 2 hours. There's great potential for variance.

However, as luck would have it the adjustments I made to the time picker are the same as you've suggested which you can see in Wednesday's games.

A belated thank you and congratulations for Yeti Face for all the work he's done on the Boardwalk. This is a really cool expansion and to see it out in the sunshine after years of starts/stalls/restarts is amazing.

Also, thanks as always to the long suffering Secret Squirrel for his help testing and refining this.

I've got a couple suggestions regarding the Case page in the boardwalk.

1) I don't think the game tells you at any point that the Case page serves any purpose in the Boardwalk, but of course it's vital if you want to take part in the Furor. It might be a good idea to just add a note to the Map page? Or a message when you first enter.

2) Since the Furore games are all listed in Sleuth Time, it would be a good idea to add a time display to that page.

3) I was just thinking that it wouldn't be very hard to allow creation of Scripted Mysteries in the Boardwalk! We should open that up in the editor.

Anyway, great work. And I hope to lose to some of you soon in the Furore

I was in mid-favor in Shanghai when a popup occurred asking me if I wanted to go to the Boardwalk, I slipped over to see how many people were logged on and when I came back my case was gone. It was a TASK FAVOR, I hope that doesn't count as a quit and I have to do 4 cases to get another.
Could you take me off the boardwalk mailing list??
