The latest expansion to Sleuth: Noir, the Battery Boardwalk, will be released just after server turn over on Saturday 8th April 2017. It's been nearly eight years since brass rings were added to the detective page, and in a few short weeks everyone will be able to get their hands on them.

The main feature will be a multiplayer experience called a Carousel Furore. The Furores will see between four and eight players race to gather twenty clues by exploring the Boardwalk, trading with one another, and engaging in espionage. A number of these games will happen everyday and the content will be open to free players. Subscribers will, however, have more opportunity to participate.

Exact times for the Furores on the Saturday will be released near or on the release date. Until then, happy Sleuthing!

As a note to longer term players who are curious, this is not the original plan for the Boardwalk.

I started this expansion expecting to finish an existing idea, but I could only find limited information on what had been done before. By the time I was better informed on the original intent, I'd designed my vastly different take on the expansion and the work was all but completed.

However, I have re-incorporated a chunk of what I did have access to into my Boardwalk. Special thanks need to go out to the Heigh Leigh Irregulars for their original Boardwalk work, with extra special thanks to both Ms Helen and Jonny (responsible for most of the original work) for sending me their notes and talking me through what they'd planned. Thank you both.

Aww thanks for the mention Yeti.

I have to add, and I know Yeti was probably not aware of it because the boardwalk started so long ago (I think before he even started playing?) but I have to mention Anikka who put as much in......actually she put more in the original boardwalk and it probably would never have even come about without her.

So big Kudos to her :)

And for those who aren't aware who 'Jonny' is, that would be Adam Carter.

Regardless I'm very excited to see the 'new' boardwalk and what it will bring :D

Sorry to have left you out, Anikka! You can see how uninformed I am on the original work. :-) Thank you for your work as well, I hope the new Boardwalk doesn't let you down.

Finally, we get to reach for that elusive brass ring.
Thanks to everyone who worked on the boardwalk.

Ms Helen, after I get a chance to explore the boardwalk I would be very interested to hear what the original vision for the expansion was.

I'm very curious to see what the hell one could do with a brass ring.

Traditionally one would trade them in for a free ride on the carousel.
