Hello everyone. It's been some time since we've had a game of Resistance, so I'll be hosting one (without story) for everyone to enjoy. If you've never played before, feel free to jump right into the world of uncertainty and lies. I promise lots of fun. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

Didn't I explain a few posts ago how a resistance player could work for the spies? Anyhow, whilst you're obviously happy to send me on future missions I doubt the resistance will go for it.

I'm still testing you out so it will be a while before I send you out on missions.

For now you can prove your new allegiance to me by gifting me the cards you receive next :)

Well played, the pieces are falling into place, ok resistance we are down 2 - 0, but it's not over yet, however we need to win the next 3 missions. Cathy congratulations on your vindication and thanks to Bella for her excellent play by using her card to out Yeti deception. Now on to the next mission.

Unless, Devi, as I'm beginning to suspect, you didn't put two - but three spies on your team. Now *that* would be quite a spy coup. But of course that couldn't possibly be. Any more than it could possibly be that a spy would out him/herself to a resistance player.

And now the power cards fall into the hands of a spy and so we will have absolutely no information to go on in this mission either - which makes me wonder if Autumnsprings didn't put three spies on her team.

I'm sorry Cathy, but if you can't trust me, I can't trust you.

MISSION 3

Yeti is the leader for Mission 3.

Mission 3 will consist of FOUR team members.

Yeti, the team leader, has been given two advantages to distribute to whomever he sees fit. They are:

OVERHEARD CONVERSATION: Owner of this card learns the allegiance of either the player above/below him/her on the player list via PM from the game master. (They player may share this information on the game board if they so wish, but are not required to tell the truth.)

NO CONFIDENCE: Receiver of this card can veto a successful vote on a mission proposal, causing it to fail and forcing leadership to move to the next player on the list.

Yeti, please assign these abilities when you’re ready.

Fear not fellow resistors, I was just pretending to be a spy when I used SABOTAGE on the last mission. I'm really a fully fledged, card carrying, member of the glorious RESISTANCE. With that out of the way it's time to divvy up the powers, so:

1) I'll keep OVERHEARD CONVERSATION for myself, and use it on Cathy Rose.
2) I'll give NO CONFIDENCE to Devi. See, I'm not so bad am I?

I'm not planning to put Cathy on my team whatever the result, we had a really good team last round, so let's re-run that only this time it'll be a SUCCESS as I won't be pretending to be a spy again. So:

Autumn, Lou, Bela, and I.

Since I'm the OPINION MAKER I'll get my vote out of the way in this very post:

YES

As a final note on the voting on missions point; I'll be voting YES to every line up from now on. Hopefully though we can all just vote YES to this one and get on with winning the game for the Resistance.
