Hello everyone. It's been some time since we've had a game of Resistance, so I'll be hosting one (without story) for everyone to enjoy. If you've never played before, feel free to jump right into the world of uncertainty and lies. I promise lots of fun. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

Wow Devi, you and Cathy really want to throw Sindy under the bus don't you? She's worked hard to be your fellow spy and you're just cutting all the strings.

Lou, just to reiterate, I will not vote for a team with Devi, Sindy or Cathy on it. They are absolutely the most likely people to be spies right now.

What's really bugging me is the idea of Sindy and Bela are spies. Bela is confident on picking Sindy to tell her side.

If bela is a spy, and also if Sindy is a spy. Then Sindy can claim either way with so many possible roads that we can drive our conversation to.

But if bela is resistance and Sindy is a spy, Then Sindy can also claim either way but high probability that she will let Bela flip spy. And that will mean either one of them is spy.

But if bela is spy and Sindy is resistance. I dont get why would bela pick a resistance if she will reveal herself. Because there is no upside with this move for Bela. She would obviously pick another spy to bring havoc. And we know that if she is a spy, then she knows her team.

Which brings us back to the first two scenario because Bela and Sindy being both resistance can never happen.

But this shakes my logic a little bit. Try to reread the past conversion in how Sindy talked to Yeti, Bela and Devi so you guys can get something in their relationship.

I have seen the first mission proposal, Cathy said no because she doesnt just trust anyone. So leave her alone in that. But seing Sindy's vote. She said no, it felt like she knew that it is going to fail somehow. That clears my suspicion.

I forgot. If you are wondering, (Because i do).

If Sindy and Bela are spies. And Sindy told us that Bela is resistance. Then, we would probably think that Sindy is a spy or both of them are spy or they are telling the truth and its either Bela/Yeti. If this really happened, we have much lesser clue of which are spies and not.

Same scenario if Sindy is a spy and Bela isnt. And Sindy told us that Bela is resistance.

So I am really thinking that Bela is not a spy.

I voted no on the first team of the first mission because that's the smart thing to do IMHO. It's crazy to just give the first team a pass without anything to go on because you are potentially giving the spies an early lead if by chance one is on that first team. Its better to let people vote on a few teams so you can see how different people are voting on different teams.

And I'm not the one who let my vote be randomized in this round. I told everyone what I was going to vote and that's what I did.

If Bela is resistance, why did she leave her poor fellow *resistance* player hanging in the wind when she was evidently so needing Bela's guidance on how to vote. In fact, without Bela's guidance she just let her vote be randomized.

I am hearing your side. What do you think about Bela + Yeti/Devi? Bela is 100% spy in your point of view.

The way Bela said that she would like to have a card to know which side a player is very genuine. And to support her side, she willingly let another person which she doesn't know if a spy or not to know her side. Because if she passed it, that would be easy for us to finger our suspicion towards her.

Who do I suspect of being spies?

Well, Bela of course.

You act suspicious yourself, but I tend to think that you're more a spy wannabe than an actual spy, but then maybe that's what you want me to think.

Cathy Rose is a wild card to me. She *says* she's new to the game, but then again we don't know that. She can go back and read the Sleuth Message Boards and see which of us are seasoned and which are not but we have nothing to go on but her word.

Devi - I would never in a million years have thought that Devi would put another spy on her team, but the fact that Bela chose *not* to use IN THE SPOTLIGHT is highly suspicious to me.

Yeti - Yeti is hard for me to read because he is a very, very seasoned spy and I find it incredibly hard to believe that he would make such a rookie move as to post something so transparent on the boards. Almost as hard as I find it to believe that Devi would put another spy on her team.

Anyway, I'm sure Lou will put together a team we can all agree on and get on to the third mission where hopefully we'll get more information make better decisions on.

Good Morning to all, my apologies for not being around yesterday (way too busy, didn't even work cases), anyway I'll read through the posts and propose a team quick as I can. Since we are still on mission 2 it's not critical, but I do want to get it right. Aren't we having fun yet? My congratulations to the spies you are doing a great job of being disingenuous and making the game more interesting, and isn't that why we're playing in the first place?
