Hello everyone. It's been some time since we've had a game of Resistance, so I'll be hosting one (without story) for everyone to enjoy. If you've never played before, feel free to jump right into the world of uncertainty and lies. I promise lots of fun. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

I love this game already; there was so much to read. :D

Um, so. (Like Autumn said,) I'm on this team, I'd definitely like to see it go forward. Moreover (I got *that* from you, Cathy :D), I get to be the team leader for a new mission now, and I get the Powers. :D Since I have a little time now, I'll also add that while I'm all for getting people to talk so that you have something to go on, you have been incredibly dogged pretty early on in the game. I don't know what to make of that yet; I prefer going by how people vote. Let's go Resistance!

Actually, you don't always vote YES in the first mission not only because there are no reason not to or because it is the optimal play for everyone.

You can always vote and say NO just to bring the game into whatever line you want. But that sometimes has a backfire if the first mission is success. The first people who went into mission are half cleared, they say. That means a little bit suspicion to you and others you soft-allying.

Wait What? Did I explain why voting YES in the first mission is the best play? Why?? I am a spy right? lol

Sorry if I seem to be persistent or defensive. I'm just trying to put my logic face on, and I don't mean to be rude or disagreeable at all. Also no one was really talking, so I was trying to ask questions to see where everyone was standing and what their thoughts were so far.

This is also my first game, so everything just seems so incredibly difficult! I can understand that more experienced players would want to make it more interesting by taking risks, but I'm just a beginner at this and it just seems really complicated to me to add risks to it from the start.

Also, I really do love knowing what everyone is thinking and what their thought process is. It helps clarify mine, but in the future I will try to ask more nicely :)

I think it's great that you're reading the Sleuth resistance threads and educating yourself, Cathy Rose. And I'm glad you're enthusiastic about playing. Just remember, it's just a game where everyone's out to outfox, outwit and out-think everyone else and have a lot of fun in the process.

Well Yeti I'll admit you had me fooled, thanks for providing me we the reason for claiming to be a spy, I'd been search for a reason a resistance member would claim to be a spy, honestly couldn't think of a single one except insanity, I hope it worked out the way you planned. And on another topic, Thank you so much for fixing the bar chat it was great fun last night.

That's right folks, bar chat is back up, digital drinks, good conversation and amusing diversions all for free. Just be careful of the character in the back, he's kinda Shady.

I agree with Sindy, it's nice to see someone making use of all that juicy character evidence in past games. :-)

You're welcome Lou! I'm glad the bar chat is back up as well. It's been gone for way too long.

MISSION 2

Bela is the leader for Mission 2.

Mission 2 will consist of FOUR team members.

Bela, the team leader, has been given two advantages to distribute to whomever she sees fit. They are:

ESTABLISH CONFIDENCE: The leader's identity will be revealed to the player of his/her choice via PM from the game master.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Whoever receives this can force a team member on any mission to post his/her action ("Success" or "Sabotage") publicly on the thread, rather than via PM. This can be used one time, on any player, for any mission in the game.

Bela, please assign these abilities when you’re ready.
