Hello everyone. It's been some time since we've had a game of Resistance, so I'll be hosting one (without story) for everyone to enjoy. If you've never played before, feel free to jump right into the world of uncertainty and lies. I promise lots of fun. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

Oi, with the poodles! I've been away most of the day. Want to know why I picked them? Because there's always some controversy with these two. But most of all because I, for some reason, got picked to go first and I was caught with work and just picked two on the list who I was most familiar with, without reading any of the banter. After posting, I read what Yeti said, rolled my eyes and said I smell something fishy. It must be just one of his ploys to figure out who the spies are and who's resistance. Just because he did it once, it doesn't mean he'd do it again, and I can't believe I just defended Yeti.

Devilish, why would you trust someone who once upset you so much that you threatened to quit the game, because he falsely accused you of being a spy... And when he was himself one? This is from another game, by the way, the one I mentioned with Sal in it.

Anyway it is not too late, you can still choose to say No to the mission, even if you were the one who picked out the team. If you are Resistance and smell something fishy, please say No, or we will lose our first round to the spies.

Because, my friend, I do not hold grudges. And say what you will about Yeti, but he's a stellar Resistance player. I'm just going to try it out this round and see whether it pays off or not to trust him.

"because there's always controversy with [them]" is a really bad reason to pick people to go on your team. You are saying that the more you suspect them of being spies, the higher the likelihood that you will pick them to go on missions?

Guys, please start making sense or I'm going to start suspecting you of being spies. At this point I have only suspicions, and you influence them by making sense in your responses and choices. Let's try to have a cohesive Resistance front to the attacks of the spies.

Devilish, he told you he was a SPY. Why would you think he was a Resistance player?

I meant that they make the game interesting. It would be boring if it all were plain vanilla, right? As I just told you earlier actually, I didn't read the banter until AFTER I posted the team. But I still don't believe, for now, 100%, that he's a spy. Each and every one of you could tell me they were resistance and I wouldn't have to believe you, right? The same with spies.

Yeah, but he said he was a spy, as he did before, when he was a spy. Why would you want to make the game "interesting" by risking losses for the Resistance team? It will be interesting regardless, but if we take senseless risks we will lose.

At the risk of siding with a potential spy or spies, you can also find resistance games where Yeti was *not* a spy and started off with the same spiel. Yeti is a very good player and plays the game pretty much the same way whether he is Resistance or a Spy.

And I agree with Devi - winning is the goal, but getting there is half the fun. And, we have to make the thread worth reading for the folks at home. :)

Cathy Rose, Yes I have checked. But in this game you must learn that, last game or games have no bearing in this game.

I always play this in real life and usually i am owning rhe game. But lately they got bored and they rarely pick me in the missions. And most of that time i was in resistance and the games where easily won by the evil side.

I also know that this kind of game is very different from the real game but i am trying to adjust my senses.

Dont put an eye to Yeti just because he is the best enemy you can see. "there are more cunning monsters you see than the monsters under your bed."
