There might be a few new bugs lurking

Yeti Face has emerged from his workshop with a new trove of content. We're not quite ready to release this, but are getting close.

In preparation for release, we've pushed up an update so we can test. This is a pretty extensive update, and there are bound to be a few bugs lurking out there. In fact, I ran into one earlier: I was booted to the login screen when completing an AI mystery with a faction twist.

I've tried reproducing the bug and haven't had any luck yet, but I know it's there.

So, I've turned off the usual functionality that hides bugs from users by either showing the terse "Unexpected Error" page, or by simply shunting you to the login page. If you run into the same bug, you SHOULD see some useful chunk of feedback including the exact error and the line of offending code.

So: if you see a white "Spyce exception" error page with a bunch of programming gobbledygook. Please Copy the text and post it here. YetiFace or I will look into it and hopefully make the world a bit safer for crime fighters.

As always...

Sleuth Strong!

Part of the paid work I do during the week actually includes a Saturday job (I work a number of part time jobs), so Saturday is basically a work day for me anyway. :-) As ever you're very welcome for my work, and thank you (and everyone else) for being so patient with the inevitable bugs with every release. Hopefully though getting all these bugs out of the way now will lower the number of bugs when the content itself is released.

I'll also mention that our favourite fez-wearer has put in at least half the work on finding the fixing the current bugs, and all of the work on getting them into the game. And he doesn't have a Saturday job. :P

Haha, a few messages between us there. :-) My last post was "addressed" to Sindy.

I'm unable to invite detectives to the agency. I remember something like that happening before. Please help!

Thanks for that Cathy, I've fixed that one in the code so Ben'll just need to pop it into the game.

Jessica, when you say you're unable to invite detectives to the agency do you mean their names aren't coming up when you search them? As detectives already in an agency do not come up in the search results there.

Sorry, my mistake. I should have checked it more thoroughly before speaking.

Oh no, it'd be bad to have missed a potential bug! Really though it should be possible to send invites to Detectives already in agencies. Needless faffing around having to have them leave first.

That's an excellent idea! It would certainly simplify matters.
