So it looks like some of those who received PMs regarding the proposed fix haven't forwarded it to their teammates.
In the interest on everyone having the same information I'm sharing it here. Riza wants to know if we go through with this plan or handle it a different way. First, her message:

"So here's the plan. I'm going to survey all the teams. If at least 3 of them say they are willing to revise and resubmit their pieces, then we'll scrap the original entries and use the new ones. Except this time, there will be explicitly stated word limits and content guidelines. And I will be running it."

Here are my thoughts:

The proposed "fix" of a rewrite is no fix at all.
the contestants all put a LOT of work into their submissions. we shouldn't have to do that work over again, while trying to do this week's events as well.

Here's my suggestion:

Maybe those who were within the stated limit should be given the chance to submit their ORIGINAL entries (as long as it's under 5000 characters and those who went over shouldn't.

That way, the event would count so the work put into them wouldn't be disregarded.

Those who wrote according to the stated rules wouldn't have to do a complete rewrite. And those who went over wouldn't be penalized.

If three teams agree to Riza's suggestion, it will be implemented. If at least three teams do not vote yes, I hope they will implement my suggestion. It seems the most fair way to deal with this.

I am getting to get at play two teams to vote no.

Hold on, DW, i think we are not on the same page. Us judges received the brief that the Rp entries should be 1 page in length. Had it not been the case?

From your comment just here, i suppose DW & Luc asked if they can go over the 1 post limit and the answer was yes? In that case we can settle with the +1 bonus for those who didn't ask and kept to the original requirements, and keep the original grades for those who went over. We cannot change what has been done, so let's move forward and seek for a solution that we all know cannot be perfect. Since DW would be the one most affected by this change in the grading system, i only ask for the consensus of one (DW) here.

Well, yes, I asked whether the 2000 limit was a hard one or going over was ok. And the answer was Yes. It has been stated in many threads thus far. That version would be more acceptable. And I think Luc (if I'm not mistaking) is in the same boat of going over the page number, presumably in the same manner (no idea, didn't ask).

*hiccups* - Sorry Badass, after that whole discussion we had today, I had to have a drink. I think Sultry needs to provide us with a new drink... *goes to lie down on a sunlounger and falls asleep*

Yeti, I thought there was no such thing as Ditzy on this site :p

Mortimer I agree with you, is nice to see activity and hopefully it will continue after the games have finished.

Now is there anything other than Long Island Iced Tea available please? :)

DW, so i will put yourself and Luc on the same grading system (Yeti's) instead of the existing one by the judges. Please let us know if that is an Okay or a No.

Sure, sounds fine with me. It's just a cluster**** as BadAss said. Wish I'd have just cut it down and be done with it.

Oh there's such thing as ditzy on Sleuth, Ms Helen, I just hold you in such high regard that I don't believe it could possibly be used to legitimately describe you.

Thank you Devi for your understanding.
We shall continue with our judging and provide the results whenever we can (due to all judges coming online at different times, do expect a bit of a delay).
