There will be 4 activities this week. All events start on Thursday, August 18, at 12:00 AM, SST. Three of the four events are continued from last week. Good luck. ;-)

1. Treasure Hunts - Week 2
This event lasts two weeks. You were given the instructions for this last week, so if you need to review them, please read the Second Week's Activities' thread. The scoring system HAS BEEN REVAMPED. All hunts are now worth 10 points, not 100. Teams receive 3 participation points for the FIRST six hunts they open and do one favor for in the correct categories. Once you have completed six hunts in the same categories as before, YOU ARE DONE. This activity ends on Wednesday, August 24th.

2. Scavenger Hunt - Week 2
This is the SECOND part of this event. You have one week to complete this activity. Please send a screenshot of your locker to Riza Hawkeye for verification purposes by Thursday, August 18, 12:00 AM, SST. All items on List #1 are INVALID after Wednesday, August 17, 11:59 PM, SST. You will be given a second list on the Sleuth Talk board. All items MUST BE COLLECTED IN ORDER, and screenshots must be sent to Riza as you collect each item. You have until Wednesday, August 24, 11:59 PM, SST, to complete this list.

3. Role Playing Essay Contest - Week 2
This event lasts two weeks. You were given the instructions for this last week, so if you need to review them, please read the Second Week's Activities' thread. Essays are due Wednesday, August 24, 11:59 PM, SST.

4. Twist/Closer Contest
This is a *TEAM* writing contest. One writer for your team is already assuming most of the responsibility for the Role Playing Essay, so DO NOT BUG THEM about this. The other 3 members of the team will submit ONE entry. Together, you will submit the idea and writing for ONE complete twist (and accompanying closer). Ideas and writing must be as fully detailed as possible. You must include descriptions of the twist's effects if necessary (gain faction standing, trigger Larry the Toe, etc).

I'd like to try and clarify a few things if possible. As most of you know Autumn is dealing with some difficult health issues. I'm also sure many of you know, there was a period of time when Autumn was pretty much on here 24/7. Breit being very concerned asked publicly for help to keep Autumn off the site for an evening. She messaged us at Rick's and said if she caught Autumn logged on during that time she would deduct 10 points from our score for each infraction. I contacted Breit because I had planned to finish playing Autumns cases for her. I wanted to know if there was some way I could assure her it was me and not Autumn. We discussed the situation and she suggested bringing in Della in the hopes Autumn would feel she could take a couple of days off without feeling she would be letting her team down. As well,Breit felt having Della here would make it easier on us. I agreed with Breit and invited Della into Ricks. Keep in mind we did not include Autumn in this conversation because she was sleeping. And yes we clearly overstepped our bounds. To be clear,we never asked Breit for help, but I did accept the offer when it was made.

Breit failed to explain to myself and Autumn exactly how Della would be utilized. Today Autumn found out that only 12 cases were to be played between Della and herself, not including the favors they would get. Between Autumn and myself the last three days we have played all or almost all of her cases. I figure that is why Della has not logged on for the past 2 days. Having 5 members makes me and everyone else at Rick's uncomfortable. We would prefer to have the four of us and let me, Etain, and Sal cover any cases Autumn can't do. But we also feel our hands are tied. Because Breit cares deeply for Autumn and feels strongly that she have the extra help available. Sending Della or Autumn to Cairo really is not a good answer. The best answer would be for us to take care of Autums cases. That way she can play when she feels up to it, be a valuable part of our team and know we have her back when she needs us to cover for her.

We truly appreciate Breits help, and Della for coming back to sleuth just to help Breit out. It goes to show what wonderful caring people play this game. And the strength of the freindships that have been forged while playing.

Without further ado, here are the results for Part 1 of the Item Scavenger Hunt:

First Place: Chariots of Fire [5] (13 points)
Second Place TIE: Rick's Cafe Americain and A Race to Adventure [4] (10 points)
Third Place: Feminine Assassins [3] (8 points)

The number in brackets next to each team name indicates how many favor items on the list were found. Part two of the hunt continues this week, so I'm sticking this here.


Also, to keep everyone up to speed, here are the current point totals for each team:

First Place: Rick's Cafe Americain (59 points)
Second Place: Chariots of Fire (50 points)
Third Place: Feminine Assassins (44 points)
Fourth Place: A Race to Adventure (42 points)

If any of the above information is wrong, please let me know immediately and I will fix it. Or if you have any other questions, please feel free to shoot me a PM. :)
