There will be 3 activities this week. All events will start on Thursday, August 11, 12:00 AM, SST. Last week was a sprint. This week (and next) is a marathon. Good luck. ;-)

1. Treasure Hunts - Week 1
This event will last TWO weeks. You need to complete a total of six hunts, 3 Single-City, and 3 Multi-City. Any hunt opened before Thursday, August 11, 12:00 AM, SST, will be discarded. Hunts can start in any city, and be from any faction. All teams get 30 points for each hunt they participate in. Teams who win a hunt get 100 points. Once teams have completed all hunts, they are ineligible from further competition in this activity.

Hunts will be divided under the following categories:

Prizes you can Wear.
Prizes you can Hold.
Prizes you can Use.

For example, The Sacred Atlas of Al Capone is a Multi-City hunt currently being run out of Delhi. An atlas is NOT something you can wear. It is, however, something you can hold, or use, so it would qualify for the second or third categories, but not the first. Another example, The Golden Ring of Al Capone, is a Single-City hunt currently being run out of Shanghai. A ring is something you can wear and hold, but not use. So it would qualify for the first and second categories, but not the third. Teams may determine which categories their prizes fall under, but only one category may be used for one prize. You must use 3 Single-City hunts in each category, and 3 Multi-City hunts. If you have a question about what category a prize falls into, please PM the Judges (Breitkat, Riza, or Squirrel).

2. Scavenger Hunt - Week 1
This is part one of two. Teams have ONE week to complete this activity. All teams must empty their Lockers of all IH favor reward items, unless they are a part of a member's uniform. Please send a screenshot to Riza Hawkeye when you have done so for verification. Please also remember that we have an honour system in place for this competition, and we are trusting you NOT to hoard things in your Apartments.

There have been two Agencies over the past few days that have needed help, one that informed the Judges publicly, and one privately. I sent Substitutes to both Agencies while their members were unavailable for various reasons (and I am NOT going into that right now). David Adams is also conducting Olympics administration business, so he will be visiting ALL of the teams. Bottom line, yes, there are two groups with five people in them. Last week, we had one group with five people in it. There's a legitimate reason for it. Anyone with a problem about this can come find me, and we'll have a chat. So, problem solved, people. Next issue.

When we send a Substitute to an Agency, we expect the missing Detective to not use any of their cases. That's what the Sub is for. We mentioned at the start of the Olympics that if any team had a member who could not participate for a particular emergency reason (I don't feel like it is NOT an acceptable excuse), that we would do everything in our power to find them a Sub while their member was unable to be there. Teams should not be handicapped because they are not at full strength for legitimate reasons, and I think everyone here would agree with me on that. Therefore, we will continue to provide Substitutes to teams, as long as they can provide a legitimate reason for their team member being unavailable. You do NOT need to broadcast it on the boards; just come discuss your issue with Riza, Squirrel, and/or me, and we'll be happy to help.

We put this competition together in less than a month (normally something like this takes at LEAST three months' time to organize). So yes, some things are being decided on the fly. The basic schedule, rules, and misconduct prevention were worked out, but we had no way of knowing what SPECIFIC situations and the fallout from them would arise. As Luc Pfeiffer mentioned last week, it took the Ancient Olympians, and Pierre de Courbetin and the Modern Olympians, SEVERAL times to get it right. And anyone who has watched the Olympics in recent times knows that there are ALWAYS problems and controversies that the organizers and judges have to deal with and work out (and Rio has more than their share at the moment). We're no different than them, guys. So. Think of yourselves as the First Olympians (I could've called you the Chief Guinea Pigs, but I thought the other was a better name ;-). I have no doubt there will be other issues that will come up, and I will continue to do the best that I can to deal with them, as will Riza and Squirrel. Next issue. ;-)

We have a number of policies and procedures in place to prevent cheating (some you know about, some you don't). Don't bother asking about the stuff we haven't told you about; we will NOT bother discussing those any further, other than stating that yes, there are measures in place, and no, you won't find out about them until you break the rules. So do yourself a favor, and just play fair. There ARE consequences when you violate a rule, and yes, they will be carried out, such as automatic disqualification of your ENTIRE team for that event. So get your s**t together, people, and knock it off. I'm tired of dealing with this. Please. Thank you.

Thank you for your explanation as well :)

Question:

Once an agency completes a hunt type, for example A Race to Adventure completed a multi-city/something you wear hunt, can it continue to compete in and earn points participating in other hunts in that category?

The rules posted state that once an agency has completed all six hunts they are no longer eligible for competition, but they don't specify as to the individual categories themselves.

Thank you.

I'm not sure I'm following your question Sindy.
The catagories are
Hold
Use
Wear

And the hunt types are multi city and single city

Are there other types of hunts I'm not aware of? I only see the ability to do six different hunts.
What am I missing?

She means once they've completed one of the six types (categories) of hunts, can they continue to pursue hunts that fit that one category.

Can a Race to Adventure open and pursue other multicity/wear hunts?

Does that make more sense?

My question is: A Race for Adventure completed a hunt in the multi-city/something to wear category. So, can we continue to compete in hunts in that category and earn points for them, or not?

The rules state once you have completed hunts in all six categories you are ineligible for further competition. They do not specify if you are eligible for further competition in a category once you have completed that category.
