As Miss Hawkeye will be quite busy doing background work on the Olympics, this round of Resistance will return to its original format. There will be no story to accompany the missions, but everything else will work the same as usual.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

I didn't say I thought Joseph WAS a spy, just that we do not currently have any evidence that she's resistance. Usually a spy choosing another person for their team would be evidence towards that person being resistance (as a spy won't want multiple spies on a team), but in this case since Devi has been revealed as a spy she may have put a spy on her team as a double bluff, meaning the evidence towards Joseph being resistance is invalid, and putting us back to square one. Joseph could still be resistance, Devi being a spy doesn't change that.

well, indeed, Yeti, had you not lied in the first place, things would have been easy. But then again, the only way I can prove I'm truly resistance is to screenshot the message I got when the games started. I'm fairly certain that's against the rules, but I'm willing to get disqualified from the game, leave the resistance one man down if only to reveal that Yeti is lying and Sal is, quite possibly, a spy himself.

That's a devious move even for a spy. I assume you're expecting people to say, "Oh no, don't cheat!" but also to feel a little swayed towards you? What'd you have done if everyone had said, "Crack out the screen shot!"? Fake one? Sudden change of heart?

You're definitely thinking outside of the box, but in this case I don't think it's a good thing.

I see now that this game is all about spies dragging others into the water with them (not saying that Devi is a spy here; there just isn't enough information yet). Should we move on to vote down this team (I've submitted my no vote already), or should we test Devi out? I have a feeling even IF she is a spy she would not reveal her hand at this point, so that'd get Resistance a first win at least?

Or am I being too much of a risk-taker?

I'm voting yes for this team. I am thinking that Yeti's is a spy, and the only way for us to see if Devi and Joseph are clear or not is to let them play.

As someone who took this game too seriously in the past, it sounds like some people are definitely taking the game too seriously. Screenshots? Leaving the game? Agreeing to what amounts to cheating? Come on people. It's a game. Yes it is frustrating when someone says you're a spy and you're not. I've been there. But Devi, it's not worth cheating and leaving the game over. Take a step back. How would you feel if a fellow resistance member offered to leave the resistance team a man down because of a personal vendetta. Probably a little upset. Everyone should take a deep breath, take a break, and calm down. This is supposed to be fun.

Remember, the spies are trying to get people all hot and bothered and pissed off. Devi, if you leave, that gives the spies an advantage. Don't give them that. You've got to play this game with strategy in mind. Not emotions.

I'm in line with JZs thinking here... If this mission didn't pass it would be way too obvious against Devi if she were a spy, and if she's resistance all the better. I think we have an easy Resistamce win here. Anyone else have thoughts?
