As Miss Hawkeye will be quite busy doing background work on the Olympics, this round of Resistance will return to its original format. There will be no story to accompany the missions, but everything else will work the same as usual.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

I'm done talking to you, spy!

I propose a team of myself and Joseph.

Mission 1, Team 2

Team Leader: Devi
Team Proposal: Devi and Joseph

It is now time for the players to vote to either approve or reject this mission proposal. When you do vote, please send me a PM stating "Mission 1, Team 2: YES/NO."

Please feel free to discuss.

Usually when a spy puts themselves on a team you know that the other person must be Resistance (as you don't want to wind up with two spies) but in this case, given Devi must be aware her team is going to be shot down, there's actually a chance that Joseph *is* a spy and she's pulling a double bluff. How annoying to not be able to draw information from that pick.

Well I know I'm resistance, but that still doesn't give me a clue as to who's telling the truth. Devi could be resistance genuinely choosing someone, or that she is a spy trying to sabotage a mission (or at least not give out further info now that she's a suspect). At this point it is still too early to tell...

With respect, Joseph, a spy would say they know they're Resistance.

I'm trusting Joseph and that's a stretch at this point because of Yeti's BS. Trusting two others I have little to no information about is a big stretch. On another level,if he turns out to be a spy, then I know who all three are.

I think whats needed is a little bit of fact-finding at this point. If you look at it this way, we have theory 1: that Yeti and Sal could be spies together. and 2. That Devi and JZ could be spies together. We need to figure out which mission we should push forward (this or another) to best get information about who has what information and how to start sussing out our spies. We can point fingers all day, but we need to catch at least one spy in the act to unwind the ball of yarn. :)

I didn't say I thought Joseph WAS a spy, just that we do not currently have any evidence that she's resistance. Usually a spy choosing another person for their team would be evidence towards that person being resistance (as a spy won't want multiple spies on a team), but in this case since Devi has been revealed as a spy she may have put a spy on her team as a double bluff, meaning the evidence towards Joseph being resistance is invalid, and putting us back to square one. Joseph could still be resistance, Devi being a spy doesn't change that.

well, indeed, Yeti, had you not lied in the first place, things would have been easy. But then again, the only way I can prove I'm truly resistance is to screenshot the message I got when the games started. I'm fairly certain that's against the rules, but I'm willing to get disqualified from the game, leave the resistance one man down if only to reveal that Yeti is lying and Sal is, quite possibly, a spy himself.
