As Miss Hawkeye will be quite busy doing background work on the Olympics, this round of Resistance will return to its original format. There will be no story to accompany the missions, but everything else will work the same as usual.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

It's the only strategy he can pick this early on in the game. Try to discredit me since I'm next up and I obviously know he's a Spy now that he's lied about my allegiance. Plus, he said he'd like to skip my turn on picking a team, thus moving the line to Sal, who is also a Spy. Boom. Two wins for the spies. If you all don't believe me and say No to Yeti's team, the Resistance will lose. And don't come running crying to me after I've consumed so much time to warn you all.

Looks like Devi and I are in agreement that this team should be shot down at any rate, so that's nice. :)

Yes, I voted no anyway cause there wasn't much of an argument on shooting it down. Its always hard to tell with Yeti, his gameplay is always so... Big. I appreciate your explanation, Devi. I'll reserve judgment for a bit yet until we have more information simply because it is early on. Either way this round will be nixed and we should be able to gain more clarity from other team arrangements!

What does it mean when any time that I have more than three new posts to read, I feel like things are moving really quickly on the boards? :D

I think we might actually get to see the first team proposal for the first mission shot down for the very first time :D

Yeti is certainly making history, whether he's spy or resistance!

Devi, Yeti and Molly spies? I don't believe it. Yet they do protest too much. A three pipe problem.

Whew this game gets fiesty fast. I am suspicious of Yeti's accusation against Devi. I am thinking he is a spy. Yeti has been pretty smooth though, so why implicate Sal if they are both guilty?? Hmmm...

Well, two options seem viable. 1. He thinks everyone will believe him without question after the last round. 2. He wants everyone to think Sal is also a spy by colluding with him, setting Sal a trap like he tried to do me.

Ha, I'm no spy! I'm trying to think carefully simply because, well..its Yeti.

I don't think everyone is quick to believe Yeti, however in the first round I played with him in which I was a spy, he was resistance and I broke his poor heart...he DID have a similar mannerism in gameplay. So, logically speaking Yeti plays in much the same fashion whether he is Resistance or a Spy, based on my experience. Its because of this I'm having a hard time writing him off as a spy immediately.

No offense meant Devi, but in the scenario that Yeti outed your allegiance it would be a natural move for you to cover yourself as a spy by playing he-said, she-said with Yeti. As I said, I need a little bit more proof, but I'm also leery because I myself was able to masquerade for so long as Resistance when I was a spy in the last round I played. Being able to pull it off myself makes me cautious about other players because it can be done and immediately targeting the wrong folks right off the bat can have shocking consequences at crucial moments in the game. I hope you understand my trepidation and thoughtful rambling, y'all!
