As Miss Hawkeye will be quite busy doing background work on the Olympics, this round of Resistance will return to its original format. There will be no story to accompany the missions, but everything else will work the same as usual.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

MISSION 1

Yeti Face is the leader for Mission 1.

Mission 1 will consist of TWO team members.

The first team leader has been given two advantages to distribute to whomever he sees fit. They are:

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Whoever receives this can force a team member on any mission to post his/her action ("Success" or "Sabotage") publicly on the thread, rather than via PM. This can be used one time, on any player, for any mission in the game.

OVERHEARD CONVERSATION: Owner of this card learns the allegiance of either the player above/below him/her on the player list via PM from the game master. (The player may share this information on the game board if they so wish, but are not required to tell the truth.)

Yeti, please assign these abilities when you're ready. Keeping an ability for yourself is also acceptable.

Molly! I think this is our first game together since you betrayed my trust. Don't try to buddy up with me this game if you're a spy, yeah? I don't think my heart could take it.

Announcer, I'd like to use OVERHEARD CONVERSATION on Devi, please. I'll announce my team after I know her allegiance. Is it all right if I hold off on assigning IN THE SPOTLIGHT until I've got the results back from OVERHEARD CONVERSATION too?

Yeti has chosen to use his OVERHEARD CONVERSATION ability on Devi. I will PM Yeti with Devi's allegiance.

Yeti, you must also assign IN THE SPOTLIGHT now. In general, please assign abilities at the same time.

Oh Devi, you'll know my allegiance as well will you? You knew my allegiance from the start. You're a SPY.

Announcer, I'd like to hold onto IN THE SPOTLIGHT, if that's okay. I'm going to propose a team of Sal and I, but I'd like everyone to vote NO; I don't want Devi to get the powers next turn. If we shoot down Devi's proposal as well, then Sal can line up a new team on his turn - which I'd really like to be he and I again - but we can discuss that when we get to it.

Oh, and I'll say now to keep things flowing, if I can't keep IN THE SPOTLIGHT for myself then I give it to Sal.

I've never had a player want to keep more than one ability before, so I had to do some research. I'm going to say leaders can't assign themselves more than one ability, as that could possibly create a balance issue within the game.

Yeti has chosen to give his IN THE SPOTLIGHT ability to Sal.

Mission 1, Team 1

Team Leader: Yeti
Team Proposal: Yeti and Sal

It is now time for the players to vote to either approve or reject this mission proposal. When you do vote, please send me a PM stating "Mission 1, Team 1: YES/NO."

Please feel free to discuss.
