One of the most prominent yet elusive people of Sleuthville, the legendary Big Lucy herself, is hitting a new milestone in life. While none are bold enough to inquire her age, rumors say this is a momentous occasion. The guest list is comprised of the most prominent and affluent people in Sleuthville and beyond.

However, some of Sleuthville's own working class have been invited-- not as guests, but as special operatives to patrol the event. They have been selected for their swiftness, skill, and intelligence. They will be entrusted with making sure that Big Lucy's Birthday Bash goes off without a hitch. But, as always, there are those who would rather see the event go down in flames.

A mere three minutes before the event is scheduled to start, the operatives are informed of an alarming development. There has been a breach within the ranks, and a number of spies have infiltrated the group! Having never seen each others' faces, there is no way to discern whose allegiance is true. The team has been compromised, but there is still a chance to save the evening.

The operatives' job this evening is to make sure Big Lucy's birthday celebration goes off without a hitch. If she is pleased at the end of the night, it is almost guaranteed that they will lead easy lives from thereon out. Whispers say Big Lucy may be more forgiving on her big day, but even she has her limits...

Will Big Lucy's birthday bash be a huge success, or will it succumb to the sabotage of the spies? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

Mission 3: Fiery Feast

A loud gong reverberated throughout the hall announcing supper, and people began to file in to the dining room and take their assigned seats at enormous round tables. Seated at the very center were Big Lucy and her most trusted advisors. Oddly, all the tables in the room were illuminated except for hers.

The team sat scattered around the room on watch for anything suspicious. Great pains had been taken to try to track down the server from earlier, but no to avail. But the team had indeed been very thorough in their pre-dinner checks
of the food and the room. Dinner was underway.

At his table, Marc yawned. The smell of burning tobacco wafted across his nostrils.. Wait...that wasn't the smell of burning tobacco. It was the smell of burning wood. Marc snapped his eyes open to see the other at his table looking around. White smoke was drifting across their feet.

Immediately, Marc's gaze shot to Big Lucy's table. He stood and beckoned to the team members closest to him and together they approached Big Lucy's table. On their way, a sudden flash of orange caught Marc's eye. Oh no. They had to get there quickly.

Mission 3 will consist of FOUR team members.

Marc, the team leader, has been given three advantages to distribute to whomever he sees fit. They are:

ESTABLISH CONFIDENCE: The leader's identity will be revealed to the player of his/her choice via PM from the game master.

OVERHEARD CONVERSATION: Owner of this card learns the allegiance of either the player above/below him/her on the player list via PM from the game master. (The player may share this information on the game board if they so wish, but are not required to tell the truth.)

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Whoever receives this can force a team member on any mission to post his/her action ("Success" or "Sabotage") publicly on the thread, rather than via PM. This can be used one time, on any player, for any mission in the game.

Marc, please assign these abilities when you're ready.

Marc, I don't suppose the powers really matter at this point, but one way to use them would be to ESTABLISH CONFIDENCE on Keira, then use OVERHEARD CONVERSATION yourself on Ms Helen. That way three of you (Marc, Keira, Devi) are 100% cleared from suspicion, leaving IN THE SPOTLIGHT free for jroepel. Or do whatever you like, as I say I don't think it really matters now.
