One of the most prominent yet elusive people of Sleuthville, the legendary Big Lucy herself, is hitting a new milestone in life. While none are bold enough to inquire her age, rumors say this is a momentous occasion. The guest list is comprised of the most prominent and affluent people in Sleuthville and beyond.

However, some of Sleuthville's own working class have been invited-- not as guests, but as special operatives to patrol the event. They have been selected for their swiftness, skill, and intelligence. They will be entrusted with making sure that Big Lucy's Birthday Bash goes off without a hitch. But, as always, there are those who would rather see the event go down in flames.

A mere three minutes before the event is scheduled to start, the operatives are informed of an alarming development. There has been a breach within the ranks, and a number of spies have infiltrated the group! Having never seen each others' faces, there is no way to discern whose allegiance is true. The team has been compromised, but there is still a chance to save the evening.

The operatives' job this evening is to make sure Big Lucy's birthday celebration goes off without a hitch. If she is pleased at the end of the night, it is almost guaranteed that they will lead easy lives from thereon out. Whispers say Big Lucy may be more forgiving on her big day, but even she has her limits...

Will Big Lucy's birthday bash be a huge success, or will it succumb to the sabotage of the spies? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

Still, if you're a spy, you're gettin' no sympathy from me! ;)

Me too. Blindness has always been one of my biggest fears. I'm trying to sleep but not doing very well, lol.

Don't worry. Between the two of us, I'm not the spy. ;)

I've heard from Marc. He is fine. Work just got very busy. He hasn't forgotten us. ;)

Oh my! Autumn you hang in there! MS could be stress related as well so try your best to take some time off. Listen to your favorite music and take this as an opportunity to rest and recharge. Glad to know from Sindy that it is reversible, and I pray that healing will come to you where it's most needed. Some say happiness shared is doubled and trouble shared is halved, so do feel free to let it out, esp when we're waiting between votes :P

I shall under go a small operation this coming Wed. There's a cyst on my cheek close to my eye which must be removed surgically, where the inflammation remained even after 20 days of antibiotics. It is a minor procedure but I am still nervous about having my face cut open. The procedure will definitely leave a scar but it's not as saddening as it would have been say ten year ago, since I'm already steadily married with a kid (and aging, um, gracefully, I think). Hopefully I can minimize the mark if I attend to the wound carefully; otherwise I'll just have to make myself believe it adds character to my look :D

Glad to know it's just busy work. I guess the slow votes gave us excuse to chat between suspicions and accusations and full fledge war :P

My gosh Autumn, I've just read this thread for the first time and realized you weren't joking about your eyesight when posting on the other thread. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that everything works out for you :-)

Joseph, some types of MS are reversible. None are curable. But I think my symptoms match up best with the one that is most common, most easily treated, slowest progressing, etc. I won't know for sure until the neurology appointment.

I hope your surgery goes well and that they are able to minimize the scar. You'll be in my prayers. Please let us know how it went as soon as you're up to it. This week really has been hard for all of us. Hopefully next week will be better.

Emer, no, I wasn't joking. Today marks a week since I began losing my peripheral vision. I can't get over what all has happened between then and now. Thank you for the well wishes.

Just for clarification, I meant the vision loss is irreversible, not the MS.

And as Autumn said, MS can go into remission but it is not curable.

Just didn't want anyone else who might read the thread to be confused.

Good go know Marc didn't get captured by Cleopatra "Whip Hand" Buranek.

The vision loss is (usually) REVERSIBLE. Especially if treated quickly like mine was. Way to go on the clarification Sindy, ;)

I'm really wiped out, so I meant that in a joking manner, just in case that wasn't clear.
