One of the most prominent yet elusive people of Sleuthville, the legendary Big Lucy herself, is hitting a new milestone in life. While none are bold enough to inquire her age, rumors say this is a momentous occasion. The guest list is comprised of the most prominent and affluent people in Sleuthville and beyond.

However, some of Sleuthville's own working class have been invited-- not as guests, but as special operatives to patrol the event. They have been selected for their swiftness, skill, and intelligence. They will be entrusted with making sure that Big Lucy's Birthday Bash goes off without a hitch. But, as always, there are those who would rather see the event go down in flames.

A mere three minutes before the event is scheduled to start, the operatives are informed of an alarming development. There has been a breach within the ranks, and a number of spies have infiltrated the group! Having never seen each others' faces, there is no way to discern whose allegiance is true. The team has been compromised, but there is still a chance to save the evening.

The operatives' job this evening is to make sure Big Lucy's birthday celebration goes off without a hitch. If she is pleased at the end of the night, it is almost guaranteed that they will lead easy lives from thereon out. Whispers say Big Lucy may be more forgiving on her big day, but even she has her limits...

Will Big Lucy's birthday bash be a huge success, or will it succumb to the sabotage of the spies? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

I'm too confused at the moment to try and deceive anyone. I'm going to bone up on the past resistance games this evening (links kindly provided by the announcer) so hopefully I'll understand more what I'm doing by tomorrow so I can properly deceive all of you. ;)

Aww flip does that mean I have to pick a team next?

Am I allowed to ask for advice from the other players?

Mission 2: Dangerous Drinks

Thanks to the aid of several doctors present at the event, Big Lucy was not seriously harmed, only slightly shaken up and very outraged. It was evident that there had been a breach in the ranks of the security team, and neither she nor her second-in-command was happy about it.

By the time Bruno had finished berating the team, the crowd had mostly calmed down and was enjoying some conversation over drinks being catered by men in white. Big Lucy, never one to appear weak, was mingling with some of her guests in a dimly lit section of the hall.

"Oi! Bring Lucy a drink!" Bruno shouted at no one in particular. A server appeared from the kitchens bearing a tray of champage flutes and offered one to Lucy. She gracefully took it.

"Very unprofessional to send out your staff wearing mismatched uniforms, don't you think?" a man said to his companion. This comment caught Ms Helen's ear, and she turned to see her for herself. Indeed, the server who had just given Big Lucy that glass was dressed in white, but the pattern on his uniform was slightly different.

"No..." There was a sea of people milling between herself and Big Lucy. Ms Helen signalled to the others on her team that something was wrong. They had to get there quickly, before she took a sip.

Mission 2 will consist of FOUR team members.

Ms Helen, the team leader, has been given three advantages to distribute to whomever she sees fit. They are:

-OPEN UP: The receiver will have their allegiance revealed to a player of their choosing. Must be used immediately.
-KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON YOU: Receiver of this card may look at one team member's action (Success/Sabotage) on a mission they are on, after the results of the mission are in.
-NO CONFIDENCE: Receiver of this card can veto a successful vote on a mission proposal, causing it to fail and forcing leadership to move to the next player on the list.

Ms Helen, please assign these abilities when you're ready.

If Joseph would like to use his STRONG LEADER ability, he must do so before Ms Helen distributes abilities or proposes a team. If not, then we will proceed with Ms Helen.

Discussion and paranoia are both welcome. :)

I realized while driving home that thankfully it's only the spies who have to deceive. However, by tomorrow I will know how to spot each and every one of you dirty scoundrels. >)

Geez, sabotaged on the first mission? When I picked the team I thought, 5 innocent and 4 guilty, so the chance of me picking a spy within my team was almost 50/50. (And then there's the chance that I picked two spies, in which case the spy would say no to it, from yeti's line of induction. Therefore, there should only be one spy in this previous team, I think, unless they communicated somehow on who will sabotage, or that one intelligently decides to hide ones identity). Since the assignment is random it could be anyone.

There was a time when I wanted to change the team because after I made my decision, a member kept accusing others of being spies (which sounds suspicious), but I PM the announcer and changing members after stating it on the thread is not allowed. I don't see the point of revoking my own decision on the vote as I know it wouldn't make a difference, plus maybe I'm wrong.

Anyhow I think it is wise to exclude us three from the next mission (myself to be included to be fair), since there is at least a 1/3 chance someone in the first mission is a spy. Do you all think that'd work? Suggestions welcomed. (Sorry I'm busy & out of town right now; when I return home after the weekend I'll have more time to think things through and hopefully do more analysis for the future missions)

First, I hope you are still doing well with the Tornados. Bad weather scares me. Tornados and Hurricanes. (Shudder) give me California earthquakes any day. Little miss spy Autumn lied about Tornados and told me that they never have any here. Well, you can see from her post above how truthful she was. :-/ The high school mascot here is a dang Tornado. This is part of why I think she is a spy.

My initial thoughts on the mission are that Marc not using the ability card is very suspicious. Although I must admit that I don't quite understand what that card does. He is on my list for a spy. Also, I am watching Autumn closely. She would be in a position where she would know that the other spy on the team would be free to sabotage under her cover of a public vote. Also, a spy would never have blown her cover by voting sabotage on the very first mission. As far as Joseph... I don't have anything to suggest that he is a spy, yet.

It is only a matter of time until we uncover who the traitorous dogs are among us.

Justin, The no confidence card is sort of like a coup. If Marc had played it, this mission, both team and leader would have been scrubbed and play would advance to Ms Helen. She would then propose a team for the same mission.

Joseph, I would think that considering I began calling people "dirty spy" BEFORE THE GAME HAD EVEN STARTED you all would know it was just me joking around. My first post about someone being a spy was made on Jul-12-2016 05:06. We didn't even have a final head count yet. The first mission wasn't posted until Jul-14-2016 08:55. Part of this game (at least judging by reading the first few rounds) is trash talking. Obviously it's not required, but it's played a big role in previous games. Hell, I got the idea from the first round.

I'm sorry if you disapprove of my playing style or think it is suspicious. But it is *my* playing style. I can sit here and not say a word. I could write pages and pages of notes and observations. I could make spreadsheets to figure out who the spies are. Or I can go around and call people dirty spy when, not only do I not have enough information to base that joking "accusation" on, but the roles of the spies haven't even been assigned yet.

If you haven't read the first couple games I suggest you do so. It might give you a better idea of what to expect during this game.

I am a trash talker. Justin and I had gone over to some friends' house to play some card games. This is a couple who know me. But when I went to the bathroom, they asked Justin if I was being serious. They didn't know until that night how competitive I can be.

So Joseph all I can say is this. Hold onto your hat and your sense of humour because throughout the course of this game, there's no telling what might come out of my mouth.

Brace yourselves.
Autumn is coming.

By the way, although I want to play, I agree with Joseph's recommendation that none of us three be put on the next team. I meant to add that to my previous two posts, but I'm using Lilith's sister (the tablet) insteadw of Lilith and was too frustrated by her to remember to put it in there. Ms. Helen I recommend you avoid having Joseph, Marc, or myself on your team.
