In just under six weeks, the 31st Summer Olympics and the 15th Paralympics will occur in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Athletes from over 190 countries around the world will gather to compete in some 35 different overall sports over a period of about 3 weeks.

Many people have commented recently that they would like to see some more activities taking place here on Sleuth. A few of us creatively evil types were wondering if we put together a series of activities for people, would y'all be interested??

We are looking for at least 8-12 people, of all experience levels; both hunters (treasure, casework, and Arch Villain) and writers will be needed. People will be competing in a team format. We're probably looking at Subbed players for now, but we're working on having at least two activities (not necessarily part of the teams, but supplemental to them) that will be exclusive to UNSUBBED players. All of these activities will have an Olympics theme.

So. Any takers?? ;-)

Please let us know below.

Thank you!!

For some strange reason, I'm getting panicky PMs in my mailbox from people begging me to reassure them that they won't have to be dealing with the Catacombs in Cairo for one of the hunts this week.... :-.

This is one of the reasons why I was reluctant to release I schedule of events prior to the start of everything.

For the first (and only) time,....

NO!!!!!

You won't be dealing with any Catacombs hunts as far as the Olympics are concerned. What you folks do in the tombs are your own business.

Now. Like I've already told several people, GO GET AN ICE CREAM, AND STOP STRESSING!!!!!

(Stressing and mass panicking is my job. ;-)

Thank you!! ;-)

If we're going to participate in the villain hunts, do we move to Shangri LA on Wednesday?

In order to annoy some people and stress the judges a bit (maybe :D), I want to tell everybody that I fail to see where is the Olympic reference in the chosen agencies names (except Chariots of fire) for the new 4 created ones related to this Olympic contest.
If you check the original Olympic games, very appreciated were the races of chariots.
The Cafe Americaine was yet to be invented in those times (not to mention Rick was not born yet), Feminine assassins have nothing to do with the Olympic spirit and a race to adventure sounds more like an arcade game, not an Olympic sport contest.
And now let contenstants start screaming at me... :)

I don't remember the rules saying the name must be Olympic related?

We decided to concentrate on the teamwork, comradery, mascots and anthems etc whilst keeping the Sleuth vibe. It is after all the SLEUTH Olympics.

To each their own :D

And

*United we play, United we win. Feminine but deadly.*

Because it's too early to remember to put it at the end of my post ;)

I know it must be upsetting for you Sultry, but still, the chosen agency names are not very inspired... you are trying to get the subject into another area, but the fault still remains.
Call your guy, Rick to support your agency claim on this year's Olympic glory, in this first event.
As I see it, Team C - Chariots of fire is the only possible winner for the first event. We will get the points and you Sultry please continue stay on the door to the areana checking athletes permits...

Dear Ms. Helen,
The creativity event should not be limited by some specific rules.
But, if not related to Olympics, what will be the difference between this Olympic tournament and any other sleuth contest we enlist for?
The judges wanted to follow creativity for each team, not to give specific instructions on how to create your group. This is what they will prize.
But, being an Olympic tournament, I am sure they will appreciate any idea related to this.
Because deadly and adventurers and coffee roasters we can be any given day of Sleuth. Not now.

Okay, first off...

Devi, yes, AV hunters may move up to Shangri-La on Wednesday, the day before the hunt officially starts. Most of you have either seen or taken part in an AV tournament before. So I will say that the usual rules will apply. BUT, I'll be detailing the exact elements of the hunts later on Tuesday (like when I've had at least six hours of sleep, which is not right now ;-). So. Those of you who have done an AV tournament can let your comrades in on what to expect.

Now, Mr. Maze....

Yes, I admit, none of the teams did a bang-up job nailing the Olympic theme in their Agency names (yes, yours was prob'ly the closest, but if yer gonna come up with an Olympic reference, that one's fairly easy to come by, let's be fair, please.).

I DID specify in the instructions that I gave to all of the teams, (and I am quoting here):

" Be funny, be patriotic, be fanatical, but most importantly, be unique!!"
(End quote)

And while none of the teams hit the Olympic mark really well, I think AAALLLL of them did *VERY* well on either the funny, patriotic, or fanatical part, and they all did a fantastic job on the unique element.

So. Let's wait for the judges to give us their placements, scores, and comments, before we go and shoot down our fellow teams, okay??

Again, good job, Everyone, on your Agencies!! I'm proud of all of you!!! ;-D

Personally I think that feminine assassination should become an Olympic sport.
