I got a mission from the archeologist in Cairo and needed to do a favor for the banker in NY. When I finished that favor the banker only gave me the usual reward and no mention of the missing piece of the map.
And the favor for the NY banker does appear on the mission list on my detective page. At the same time I also needed to get a clue from the missionary in Delhi for my nemesis hunt. Not sure if one affected the other.
