There was absolutely no evidence on an easy mystery that pointed to the supposed killer so I got a false accusation. It isn't like this was my first one - I went through all the steps but everyone kept clamming up and my contact is a waste, he never knows anything. I thought there had to be at least two clues identifying the murderer?

that's odd for an Easy level mystery. Do you have your basic thread and hair skills? (without 'em, some evidence doesn't appear).

Do you have your basic interview skills? (either Sweettalk/RuleBend if you play charming OR Interrogation/Intimidation if you play tough.

You can complement your interview style by picking gear with higher test points. At your level it is more useful to get (for example) lots of charm gear and hold off on smart til you have the advanced smart skills).

but I don't understand why everyone would clam up on an easy mystery. They are usually really chatty at that level (compared to later!!)

On easy there are 2 pieces of evidence, 5-6 suspects the majority has alibi's, and often the killer is the one without an alibi, instead of a fake alibi.

if you dont have thread and hair skills you wont find them. So it can be that you will have to rely on witness evidence.
