The New York Police Commissioner has just approved a daring, top secret mission to infiltrate the ranks of La Cosa Nostra and target none other than the fearsome Dona Isabella Santanelli herself. If all goes well, he can collect enough evidence against the Dona to put her away for life and severely cripple the lucrative crime operation.

The only catch? La Cosa Nostra has access to the NYPD’s detective base (no one knows how) and can identify any of their detectives on sight. Because of this, the Police Commissioner has to recruit from some lesser known faces- the private detectives and civilians walking the streets of New York.

Will the Police Commissioner be able to assemble his task force and infiltrate La Cosa Nostra without spy interference from LCN? Or is the mission doomed to fail, and the price fatally steep for all involved? Find out in this game of The Resistance!

I voted no as I wanted to get some more information, but it looks like since no one else did I lucked out and my fellow spy wound up on the first mission after all. I hope either LED or Riza can be best spy buddies with me soon.

Mission 1:

"Where in the world does this charming individual live?" Lady Emerald winced, wrinkling her nose as she looked around the littered alleyway. To the left, a dirty stone step housed a white door in the brownstone, the paint cracked and peeling.

"This is the number alright." Riza said, and not one to waste time, she aimed a precise kick to the door, blowing it inwards with the force of impact. The chain that was latched beyond now dangled freely, splinters trailing at its ends. "That'll convince them." She murmured, and disappeared up the darkened stairwell beyond, Lady Emerald hot on her heels.

At the top of the steps Riza and Lady Emerald encountered a short, greasy man with shifty eyes. "Who... who are you?" He parroted unconvincingly, and Riza rolled her eyes and grabbed him by the arm, holding a stiletto knife that appeared from nowhere to his side.

"Let's go Iggy, no struggling now." She said loudly and shoved him down the steps before her. Throwing a look over her shoulder, she met Lady Emerald's eyes. With a polite nod and a smile, Lady Emerald tipped over a bookcase and began yanking out drawers.

Riza marched Iggy to the car and shoved him in the back, his loud protests delivered more woodenly than a failed vaudeville comedian. Within moments Lady Emerald joined her, cheeks flush and looking freshly exerted.

"Place is an absolute mess- I believe our work is done here." Lady Emerald chirped cheerfully, and the two sped off towards headquarters, mindful of any tails behind them.

Mission 2:

"Good work, you two." The Police Commissioner barked gruffly. "But we're not out of the woods yet. Next on our list is a careful retrieval of one of the most damning pieces of evidence and a trophy in LCN. On the mantle of the Dona's chief helper and right hand man Antonio del Rosaro's fireplace, you will find a one-of-a-kind amulet of solid gold with an inset ankh of red rubies. This belonged to one of the richest businessmen in New York who unfortunately made enemies with La Cosa Nostra and paid the ultimate price. The amulet was around his neck when the body was discovered, and was later removed from the evidence locker. Several cronies of La Cosa Nostra have been heard to say the Dona had it retrieved and gifted to Antonio as a trophy...

For this mission, we'll need three operatives. You!" he barked, pointing at the unassuming Lady Emerald Devon. "You look subtle enough to pull off a mission with this level of finesse. Please choose three operatives who will carry off the retrieval of this item with minimal fuss. "

Lady Emerald Devon, you're up. Please put together a team of THREE detectives for the first mission (you may put yourself on the team). Once Lady Em proposes her team, everybody will vote on whether on not they approve the team proposal by PMing me. If a majority approves it, the mission starts; if not, leadership passes onto M. Lacrimosa. Your power (which you can give to anybody, including yourself) is...

It'll surprise you all to know, but I am not actually a spy. No, I am a true compatriot of the NYPD, who went undercover undercover to obtain information.

As I mentioned earlier I believe a spy has managed to infiltrate the ranks of the previous mission, as only I voted against it, meaning two spies voted for it. LED, I propose you use your power on me, and from that we can start to establish a base of Resistors.

Riza - I am counting you as resistance perhaps naively.

Yeti - you talk too much for anyone to trust you.

Sal, you haven't made an appearance, I feel that's a spy thing being on the DL.

DW, you don't trust Yeti, either... so maybe that makes me trust you.

ML, you drink coffee which is nice but you sipped it suspiciously, is sipping coffee your tell?

I propose taking RIZA and DEV along with me and I will vote YES to the team and I have to vote SUCCEED.

And I will keep my card. I will if your coffee drinking is a tell or not ML ;)
