The rival factions of the city of Shangri-La have been at odds for years. The Tigers seek to crush all opposition to the Prince’s rule, while the Tea Steepers are disapproving of the new Prince’s disregard for the peaceful traditions of Shangri-La.

To complicate an already fragile state of co-existence, quite a few nemesis hunters have gained the trust of both factions. Both factions, while obliged to be cordial to their new saviours, are feeling uneasy with what is apparently the new status-quo. The Prince’s soldiers have worked to ensured that the Monastery is off-limits to all visitors to Shangri-La, but this hasn’t stopped the Steepers from finding detectives sympathetic to their cause and collaborating with them " and the Tigers know it.

With the haunting clickety-clack-clack of countless pairs of Polka Dot Pumps ringing in his ears, the Chief of the Tigers of Shangri-La resolves to destroy the Tea Steepers once and for all. The Tea Steepers, fully aware of the plans the Tigers have in store for them, put together a team of detectives to put their plan into action. The wise monks of Shangri-La (after a few brainstorming sessions with the Scholars of Shangri-La " because you can never escape the Scholars of Shangri-La) know that there is but one way to protect their campaign against what they believe to be the Prince’s oppressive rule. However, the Prince’s Chief of Security has managed to sneak a few trusted informers onto the team.

Will the Steepers succeed? Will their champions succumb to the scheming of the spies? Will we ever figure out what's going on with Rasputin’s Egg? How many Sparkly Vests are the Tigers slowly processing to create"? Whoa, I nearly gave the game away there. Anyway, let’s find out!

Oh, DW. I don't remember if I pm'ed you on fb or not, but I did see the pictures. :)
What a cute little guy. I hope he has and will continue to bring you loads of happiness, even if you are a spy. I have no particular reason to say this, just a gut feeling that there are already way too many Resistance members running around.

The team Riza proposed (consisting of herself, Molly and Sal) has been APPROVED (4-1).

The votes:

Molly Maltese: NO
Riza Hawkeye: YES
Yeti Face: YES
Sal Iva: YES
DevilishWings: YES

The mission can and will proceed; Riza, Molly and Sal will PM me their mission actions (whether they choose for the mission to SUCCEED, or if they wish to SABOTAGE it).

Remember, members of the Resistance MUST vote to have the mission SUCCEED, while spies can choose to SUCCEED or SABOTAGE.

Thank you, Molly, for the welcome. And to Sal for your kind words. He is a bundle of joy, even when he's screaming his lungs out to be held at all times :))

So Riza did not use her SPOTLIGHT power in this mission? How odd.

Mission 2:

"Lara, a cup of your finest tea.", Molly said. Trudging back to the tea shop wasn't exactly relaxing, and with Lara busy, they could look for the hat. "Nothing too stinky!", Riza called out to Lara as she turned to leave. Lara gave the group a strange look and hurried out.

They counted to ten; the hat didn't stand a chance!

"How nice of you to visit, Larry! What's the occasion?" Lara was clearly not busy making tea, stinky or otherwise.

"I thought you'd know! They said I was supposed to get a hat, but what, that's a code, right?"

"Larry?" Sal whispered to the other two.

"Here you go. I want my $4800 before tomorrow."

"It really is a hat. Huh. Oh, I have your money, the Chief seemed really anxious to get...this hat. They gave me a little money too; how about we get out of Shangri-La for a while? This place is way too creepy for me." Larry croaked. "See you tomorrow, I was supposed to get it to them immediately!" he said, running out.

Lara sighed a little. "Sure," she called out after him.

Three detectives charged out of the shop, in different directions, trying to find Lara's Larry.

Three detectives returned to the park, dejected, to convey the bad news to the other two.

I didn't prompt her to, actually; did you mean to play the card, Riza? It can now only be played before next mission results, sorry.

The votes:

???SUCCEED
???SUCCEED
???SABOTAGE

The mission was a FAILURE.

Yeti Face is the next leader.

The List:

Molly Maltese
Riza Hawkeye
Yeti Face
Sal Iva
DevilishWings

Riza has the "STRONG LEADER" card as well as "IN THE SPOTLIGHT". If you'd like to use "STRONG LEADER", you'd have to do so before Yeti proposes a team or decides who gets the power card. "IN THE SPOTLIGHT" can be used after a mission proposal is approved, if you'd like to see what one player's action during that mission was.

Mission 3:

“We must not lose heart, detectives! The war is far from lost.” the monk said, pacing up and down while the detectives listened. "Clearly, somebody informed the Chief of Palace Security about our little...recovery mission."

Steeper loyalists would recognise this young monk; he always greeted them when they visited the Monastery - he was the boy to know if you had a cowboy vest or two you needed to get rid of. “The Tigers have their spies here. We must install one of our own in their midst. I’d like for two of you to retrieve a Full Length Possum Coat from a sympathizer in Cairo. The Rug Merchant there has the coat we need. It has been...modified. You’ll know it when you see it,” he said, rather quickly.

“That coat, it’s a good one. Long,” Yeti mused.

“I’m glad we are in agreement, detective. Perhaps you can decide who should go. With that coat in our possession, we’d be very well-positioned to overthrow the Prince. Well-positioned indeed,” the monk said; for some reason, he sounded like he was trying to convince himself.

________

Yeti, you’re up. Please propose a team of TWO players for Mission 2 (you may put yourself on the team). Once Yeti proposes his team, everybody will vote on whether or not they approve the team proposal by PMing me. If a majority approves it, the mission starts; if not, leadership passes onto Sal. Your power (which you can give to anybody, including yourself) is...

NO CONFIDENCE: Whoever receives this can, after a mission proposal has been successfully approved through voting, force that proposal to fail. This would move leadership to the next player on the List.

*Can be used at any time (after a team proposal has been successfully voted through).
