Why are suspects always in their home?!

I trained the lock pick skill, but when I want to use it on some suspect, they are always home. In Shades of Mystery, I can wait 4 hours some place. What can I do in Noir?

You can't choose who to use it on in Noir; on your *first* visit to a suspect's home, you *might* get the option to use your lock-picking skills if they aren't home, but you only get the option a limited number of times per case (how many times also depends on case level). You'll get used to it soon, and it's not the only thing different on Noir (we have our super-positive quirks too :)

If I don't use it when offered, will I get it again for that case?

If you mean, if you don't use it when you first visit and get the chance, will you get another one if you go back and re-visit the suspect; no, you won't be offered a second chance.

The lock-picking skill isn't something you can run out of like on Shades; you can use it whenever you get the opportunity, it's just that you'll only get it once or twice a case.
