I've started work on the next update for Sleuth, and as promised it's going to be a content update. However, it's going to take a while before any of you see it, at least two months, potentially far longer than that.

Now I would hate to leave you all in the Sleuth wilderness, totally devoid of changes, so every one to two weeks I'll create an update from the suggestions you give here. An example of a small update (from the desk of Bela Talbot III) would be including your most recent fortune telling in the case file so long as you haven't discovered any new suspects since then.

Whilst this is going on I'll also fix up the small bugs lying around the game. For example, there's a certain accessory devouring fox that needs reining in, and possibly relocating. So don't worry about suggesting bug fixes here. Keep it to small things you'd like to see, or small annoyances you'd like changed.

I'd love to revamp factions. Great ideas Sindy.

And what if somehow the factions could be tied to the villain hunts? Like in some regular cases your standings with a faction can go up and down with another one. The same could apply for villain hunts but with different (perhaps more severe?) consequences that will grant you certain benefits with one faction and disadvantages with another one.

Some suggestions for possible consequences;

*Honorary member (gives you the same bonus as having the highest standing) This bonus will work permanently until you get benefits from a rival faction

*When a certain faction doesn't want you to solve the villain hunt and you persist anyway, you'll lose the skill they taught you and you'll have to learn it all over again

It could be implemented as a twist during a villain hunt and the player will have the choice to either quit or continue the hunt. I just gave a few ideas for rewards/penalties and the more of them can be added the better of course.

I'd also like to add that having to learn faction skills again shouldn't be too much of a pain for seasoned players who usually have a bunch of unspent skill points and nothing left to spend them at.

Since experienced players can earn about 1 skill point a day it could take over two weeks to recover the skill points lost. It'd have to be a very rare twist else people would ultimately be forced to quit villain hunts as soon as it came up. Factions should ultimately worm their way into more areas though, including villain hunts.

Well, a lot is possible of course. Like losing the skill for a certain limited time. And other rewards/penalties I didn't mention such as getting rid of a false accusation for free or at a discount.

The main idea is to get the factions connected to the villain hunts (or nemesis hunts? or Sleuthetania?). The rewards and penalties can always be up for more and better suggestions of course.

Absolutely. Well, here's the current big update schedule for the next however long it takes me:

1) The current mysterious update that's perpetually meant to be out in the next month or two.
2) Updating the site so it works properly on mobile browsers, potentially introducing a dedicated app alongside it.
3) Revamping the Sleuthetania to be completely different to the standard murder mystery aspect it's got going on at the moment.

At my current rate it may well take a year to do all of that. So whilst I do intend to try and spruce up the factions at some point, I have no idea when I'll actually be able to do it. What I can do, hopefully, though I've failed miserably at it so far, is introduce smaller updates like, for example, a tick list for apartment equipment.

How about a high score list for detectives who have never subscribed. I've seen several logged on an am impressed with their scores. I'm sure they would love to know their standing in that very exclusive group.

Wouldn't that encourage them to continue not subscribing?

I suppose so, then again after 2000 + days age , I don't suppose they are going to subscribe anytime soon.
Also I guess being on the top of that score board wouldn't be enough to keep me from subscribing. After all there is a lot of content they miss out on just to be a leader on a unsubbed high score list.

I'd like to see a new skill created that would unclam a townie that has already been bribed and is still needed.
