After a period of absence, THE RESISTANCE has returned to the Sleuth boards with a healthy Yeti-flavoured taste.

For those unfamiliar, The Resistance is a social game of limited information. Players are split into two teams, one team being true members of the resistance, and the other being spies who have infiltrated the group. Over a course of five missions, resistance members aim to have three missions succeed, whereas spies aim to sabotage three of them. The only way for players to communicate with each other will be through this thread.

I'll post a detailed set of rules once the sign up process is over, but to give you an idea of how the game goes the first The Resistance thread on the Sleuth boards is here: http://noir.playsleuth.com/map/cityhall/post.spy?id=34582&first_record=302111

We'll need five to ten players in order to start the game. I'd like to keep this game flowing, so before putting your name down please make sure that to the best of your knowledge you'll be able to log in at least once a day for the next two weeks. You will not receive financial payment for playing THE RESISTANCE.

Mission 3 Result:

Under the light of the moon Mac Kerrell and turtledove approach the Grand Theatre knowing that Countess "Hoot Owl" Xu was inside. Aware that the night was perhaps not the best time to catch a Hoot Owl, they'd set up a cunning plan. Sensing their approach using her villainy sixth sense Hoot Owl leapt from her hideaway underneath the stage. Hearing this, Devi walked out of the Stage Manager's room where she'd been waiting for the last few hours, both guns drawn.

Looking for an escape, and spying one, The Countess leapt from the stage and through a fire escape on the aisle, into the waiting hands of Sal Iva. The other three ran over and quickly the villain was subdued. Or rather, a very distressed looking actor had been who'd been having a cat nap under the stage. The real Countess was long gone.

Mission Four

Drusilla "The Bite" Spike was quite the mad villain. For instance, of all the places she could have picked to live in the world she choose New York. The worst of all the places. Never the less the Resistance must brave the journey there, as Drusilla is currently their only lead in a case that seems to be slipping ever more out of their hands.

Lou Hoyle, please put together a team of three players for this mission. Your special power to keep for yourself, or to give to another to use:

OPINION MAKER: The player who this power is used on must post their YES/NO vote for mission proposals directly in the thread, rather than privately to me, for the rest of the game. This power must be used immediately rather than held.

Nice try guys the odds were just too far stacked against us, dang I wish we had gotten a different power card , this one wont do us much good. Remember if we can push it to Mission 5 I think the Spies have to have 2 votes to sabotage. For my team:
Myself, Soheir, Devi and TD and I'll give the Opinion Maker Power to Devi.
Let's go take down Drusilla "The Bite" Spike and even the score.

As we have so few players compared to other rounds on these boards spies only need one vote to sabotage for any mission - so don't hold out for that.

With regards to your team you're going to have to drop a player as only three are allowed on this one.

Finally, are you using the power on Devi so she has to post her votes in the thread, or are you giving it to Devi to choose who to use it on?

Sorry Guys I was wrong about the 2 votes neededto sabotage, I was kinda counting on it too. I'm giving it to Devi, she can keep it or reassign to someone else. , I didn't mean pick four instead of three. So here we go:
Myself, Devi and TD but for the record I don't think Soheir is a Spy.

Mission 4 Team 1:

H has proposed a team of himself, Devi, and TD. Please message me with your YES/NO votes for whether or not that team should go forward to the mission itself.

Devi, H has given you the OPINION MAKER power. Who would you like to use it on?

Devi was still annoyed that they'd been duped by the villain, but nonetheless there was still hope. She was enjoying a cup of coffee when the concierge brought her an envelope with a small note scribbled inside.

Telling the young man to wait a second, she quickly wrote a simple name on a piece of paper, shoved it in an envelope, sealed it and sent it back. The Resistance's message boy was downstairs, after all. The only reason it hadn't been him knocking on her door was the extra security she had set in place.

Mac Kerrell, Devi has used the Opinion Maker power on you, and consequently all of your YES/NO votes must be made on this thread rather than privately to me.

The introvert in me quails at this idea...

I vote YES on this mission. The villains are at the 17th hole and it's the bottom of the ninth. If we don't hit a home run now, it will be checkmate for all of us who believe in truth and justice.

Love the great metaphors Mac, but you also forgot (since it's the American football season); [In my best sports announcer voice] Ladies and Gentelman It's late in the 4th quarter, lesst than 2 minutes remaining on the clock, the home team is trailing by 1 but they have the ball on their own 1o yard line it's 3rd down with 5 yards to go for a 1st down. The ball is snapped , oh no the blitz is on, the Quarterback looks downfield for an open receivier, Damm they're all covered, he runs to the right, fake pumps once, then twice, he reverses direction, the defenders dive to sack him as he rears back and throws a Hail-Mary and ... the rest is up to you.
