Apparently I'm not the first, but I've come across a bug, and just wanted to warn others to avoid it until the problem is hopefully and finally fixed:
Do not carry an overdue book task if you're Nemesis Hunting.
I had an overdue book to retrieve from the Tea Merchant in Shanghai, and I then got a Nemesis task for the same Tea Merchant to retrieve 8 overdue books. A pestilent little bug has seen to it that the option to ask the Tea Merchant for the former overdue book does not come up, and I cannot move forward with the Nemesis task.
And I'm going a step further and assuming that the same bug may be lying in wait for package deliveries. Finish up your tasks.

I think when you deliver packages (to any townie, say X) while you have an active "deliver an item to townie Y" task from your Nemesis, and you deliver the package to Y, Y takes your hat/coat/accessory/shoes and thanks you for the item you were supposed to give X. Oops. So, as Soheir says, the only preventive-ish step we can take to avoid getting mugged is not carry packages or books while hunting your Nemesis...s/he's diabolically buggy.

Eh there are the occasional clashes. Some clear themselves after the task is over, but in this instance I can't imagine it will. HOWEVER I have experienced someone returning parcels to the Post Office in Delhi counting towards the librarian tasks. Yeah yeah, I don't get that either. In this instance however, I've asked ben to move the hunt on past this, or at leat clear the original errand.

I just experienced a similar bug. My overdue book to return just disappeared when I traveled to London while on a nemesis hunt.

Oh dear. Thanks for mentioning it, I'll see if I can replicate the problem.
