And lets see you the two of you did, shall we?

1. John Jacob Bausch was a German-American optician who co-founded Bausch & Lomb (with Henry Lomb).

2. George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr. is most well known for inventing the Ferris Wheel, constructed for the World's Columbian Exposition in an attempt to create something as impressive as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.

3. Henry Phillip Hope is the only survivor, and therefore namesake, of the curse of the Hope Diamond.

4. Joyce Clyde Hall was the founder of Hallmark Cards.

5. Abel Janszoon Tasman was a Dutch seafarer, explorer and then merchant, best known for being the first known European expedition to reach the islands of Van Diemen's Land (now Tasmania) and New Zealand and to sight the Fiji islands, which he did in 1643.

6. George S. Parker was a game manufacturer and founder of Parker Brothers.

7. Virginia O'Hanlon was the little girl who wrote a letter to the New York Sun, asking if there was a Santa Claus. The reply is of course the famous column titled, "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus."

8. Joshua Vick was a medical doctor and pharmacist in North Carolina in the early 1900s. He, in fact, is only the namesake of Vick's VapoRub. It was his brother-in-law H. S. Richardson who came up with the formula.

9. James Smithson was a British mineralogist and chemist noted for having left a bequest in his will to the United States of America, which was used to fund the Smithsonian Institution.

10. Mary Elizabeth Sawyer once had a little lamb. If followed her to school one day, which was against the rules. So she hid the lamb under her shawl, under her desk, but everywhere that Mary went the lamb was sure to go. When it followed her to spelling class, it was discovered and thrown out by the teacher. It made the other children laugh and play to see the lamb at school, and it made one of the children, named Rawlston, write a rhyme.
