See if there is interest for this.

1. Each day I will post 10 questions, at random times of the day.
2. Each Quiz runs exactly 24 hours.
3. The first person that has all 10 questions right, wins. Or if no one has all questions right, the best one wins.
4. You can only post answers ONCE for the same quiz.
5. No cash involved. Just glory. :)

Ok, since I know I stand no chance of making such a beautiful quiz like Rosamund and Breitkat did, here’s a quiz on something I’m totally cazy about (apart from Sleuth) – adventure games:

1) What’s the name of the game in which “a flower is a symbol of pain, of death within death” and florists are botanical weapons experts?
2) In Discworld Noir, detective Lewton undergoes a serious metamorphosis. What exactly happens to him?
3) What does the protagonist of The Longest Journey, April Ryan, do for living, and what does she study?
4) His name is George, her name is Nico, his name is Andre. Which adventure game series feature this love triangle?
5) What is the greatest ability of Guybrush Threepwood, the mighty pirate?
6) What does Jane Penvellyn – one of the characters in Nancy Drew game “Curse of Blackmoor Manor” – wants to do when she grows up?
7) The main character of this fairly recent game had a grandfather who was a detective and a grandmother who was a prostitute. What’s the title of the game?
8) He had a really tough night. First, his dog was kidnapped. Then, he found himself in an ugly amusement park which he couldn’t leave. What is the name of that unfortunate detective?
9) What are the names and gender of the trio of performers who help out the main character in Runaway: The Road Adventure?
10) Give at least one title of an adventure game inspired by Jules Verne’s books.

Clara,

Wonderful quiz. I unfortunately know none of the answers but am very very intrigued by the subject matter. I am also very impatient. lol :-P So I was wondering if you would mind sharing the names of the games with me by pm? I promise I won't share them with anyone. I really want to check these out, they sound so interesting, especially that first one. If not, I'll just have to wait like everybody else. lol :0)
Thank you,
Justin

2. He becomes a werewolf (my favourite click-and-point adventure)
4. Broken Sword (another favourite)

I love adventures too, but since I started playing Sleuth there's no time left for them.

I’m sorry if the quiz was too difficult, I guess it’s not only Rosamund who doesn’t have time to play adventure games because of Sleuth... :)
Here are the anwers:
1) Grim Fandango – this game is definite must for an adventure games fan
2) Lewton dies and comes back to life as a werewolf
3) April Ryan studies painting, and works as a waitress – a typical job for a student, even if that student lives in a 23rd century and is the chosen one who must save the world (or more precisely: two worlds) from destruction...
4) The Broken Sword – the last game in the series, The Sleeping Dragon, is one of my personal favourites
5) Guybrush Threepwood (the mighty pirate), who is never allowed to drink grog (unless he has his temporary library card with him), boasts that he can hold his breath for ten minutes... and anyone who played Monkey Island 1 (from 1990) knows that this ability actually saved his life
6) When she grows up, Jane Penvellyn wants to make computer games ;) In the latest Nancy Drew game, Danger by Design, Jane is the author of the website “Jane’s Game Portal”, and we can play some of her games there...
7) Still Life. This sequel to Post Mortem (whose protagonist was detective Gustav McPherson), features Mc Pherson’s granddaughter, Victoria, an FBI agent who tries to find the man responsible for a series of grisly murders. Victoria’s grandfather investigated a similar case in Prague 75 years ago, after being hired by the prostitutes to find the murderer. A mature title, rated PG18 for strong language, graphic violence etc. etc.
8) Tony Tough – he is a protagonist of a very good adventure game called Tony Tough and the Night of Roasted Moths
9) The names are: Carla, Lula and Mariola, and they’re all men.
10) Return to the Mysterious Island, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Journey to the Moon... I particularly recommend the first one: a very innovative and interesting game.

and the winner is... Rosamund, with 2/10 :)
