See if there is interest for this.

1. Each day I will post 10 questions, at random times of the day.
2. Each Quiz runs exactly 24 hours.
3. The first person that has all 10 questions right, wins. Or if no one has all questions right, the best one wins.
4. You can only post answers ONCE for the same quiz.
5. No cash involved. Just glory. :)

Ha and it's raining here so I drove today, but I waved politely and slowed down past all the fools riding their bikes to work.

2. A stitch in time saves NINE (nine what I don't know)
3. LOOK before you leap.
4. The best things in life are FREE.
5. The grass is always greener ON THE OTHER SIDE (of the street/road)
6. BAD NEWS travels fast.
7. A rolling stone gathers NO MOSS

9. A watched kettle never BOILS
10. (Russian) Once burned by milk you will BLOW ON COLD WATER (multiple words)
11. (Croatian) God created the BEARD first for himself.
12. What English proverb (roughly) means the a same as this Dutch proverb?
"Even if a monkey wears a gold ring, it is and remains an ugly thing"
YOU CAN'T MAKE A SILK PURSE OUT OF A SOW'S EAR. (or I'll accept John Q's answer, 'You can't shine sh#t' or words to that effect... )
13. What English proverb (roughly) means the same as this Thai proverb:
“Those who can’t dance blame it on the drum and the flute.”
A GOOD WORMAN NEVER BLAMES HIS TOOLS
Bonus: (Author Terry Pratchett) The pen is mightier than the sword IF … ? IF THE SWORD IS VERY SHORT AND THE PEN IS VERY SHARP.

John Q. Publik wins. I suppose a sailor would hear a lot of proverbs and sayings, some even polite. Immpressed you knew the Croatian and Russian ones :)

Special Mention to Al Z who I think, in some sense, actually got them all right, and made me laugh.

Referring to LED's statement earlier, I just happen to be a scientific artist who likes his music and has a penchant for geography and history (among other things!)

It seems that I owe you all a quiz! Well, unfortunately I am away on business over the weekend, so I will get one ready for then and have it for you on tuesday. Hopefully someone has a bacjup quiz (or 3) they could use until then.

Okay, sorry I haven't had a chance to get on here and post the quiz. I know how much you guys need your fix. So here goes. Each answer will be a specific value, you get zero points if you hit it dead-on, and one point for every increment (whole number, day, etc.) you're off by. The person with the lowest score will be the winner.

1. Diameter of the moon. (km)
2. Land area of Canada. (sq. km)
3. How many feet are in a leauge?
4. How many imperial bushels in a register ton?
5. Year that New York's Central Park opened.
6. Year that the lance was discontinued as an official battle weapon of the
British Army.
7. Acres of pizza eaten by Americans on a daily basis.
8. Number of dimples on a regulation golf ball.
9. Number of ways to make change for a US dollar.
10. Number of misspelled entries in Webster's 1996 Dictionary.

I really didn't consider how long this is going to take to score, but it's already written, so it's my own punishment.
