See if there is interest for this.

1. Each day I will post 10 questions, at random times of the day.
2. Each Quiz runs exactly 24 hours.
3. The first person that has all 10 questions right, wins. Or if no one has all questions right, the best one wins.
4. You can only post answers ONCE for the same quiz.
5. No cash involved. Just glory. :)

How could I forget the Wimbledon wives? And Jaques, As You Like it being one of my favourites? And if Dick yelled for his horse I'd be much surer of the answer. I think "methinks" is a beautiful word, a pity it's an archaism today. And so are many of our Will's words. Every language is a living body and it naturally changes with times, but I'm afraid our present internet slang will take away much of the beauty of the English language.

*Arms akimbo - Ala Robin Hood - he laughs out loud merrily* Ha! Ha! Methinks Rosamund - betwixt thee and me - thou shalt never spy yon Squirrel bothering to type "laughs out loud" in full again. But verily, nay twice-fold I beseech thee, one doth see thy point.

Ha! Ha! I almost fell off my chair laughing merrily. I'm sorry I can't answer you in the same manner, it would take too much time to dig up the books of old Will, Marlowe, Webster and the company. At least one thing is now clear to me, what lol means. I knew it had something to do with laughter, but didn't know what exactly. Thank you for expanding my knowledge of computer slang.

Thank you, Serena, but as I'm going away for the weekend and won't be here until Sunday evening Europian time, I'm passing the honour to post the new quiz to someone else. Della? Greyling?

1) How long did the Hundred Years War last?
2) Which country makes Panama hats?
3) From which animal do we get catgut?
4) In which month do Russians celebrate the October Revolution?
5) What is a camel's hair brush made of?
6) The Canary Islands in the Pacific are named after what animal?
7) What was King George VI's first name?
8) What color is a purple finch?
9) Where are Chinese gooseberries from?
10) How long did the Thirty Years War last?

lol ok i was actually sitting here making funny answers til my brain clicked into gear...
1. hmmm more than a hundred years 115? or therabouts...
2. Ecuador
3. Sheep, horse, anything but cat. I think 'cat' has somethign to do with a translation of 'string'.
6. Dogs (this is where 'trick quiz' kicked in)
7. Albert
8. gee I'm reading a biography of Rasputin at the moment and this was in it... and it's still hazy. November? It's the Bolshevik revolution right? But like they called the end of East Germany / Berlin Wall the October Revolution (I think) ... so either way, not October :) maybe not even Russia.

and that's me done. lol where 'are' Chinese goosberries from? Google Google where for art thou...
