This is a thread about music. All kinds of music: classical, jazz, blues, rock, folk, film music... any kind you can think of. The questions can be about anything related to music: about composers, musicians (performers), styles/periods, musical forms, musical instruments, or about particular pieces or songs.

I'll start with a person.

Composed by a single person? Oh, and were the instruments part of an orchestra, or...?

Yes, composed by a single person - the composer :).

Heehee, I'd meant that maybe, it could be a band :)
It's vocal too...
Okay, I'll let the pros take it from here, before you all find out just how bad I am at this stuff :) It couldn't be by Mozart, or Beethoven, or Liszt, or Chopin, could it? Yeah, I'm just pulling out random names off the top of my head :)

It could, but it isn't :D. Don't give up so easily, Bela, we've just started.

Are the vocals traditionally sung by a man or a woman?

Is it part of an opera?

Was it composed in the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st centuries?

I'll repeat Bela's question: is the instrumental element an orchestra? Piano? Harpsichord? Small ensemble?

Could it be Handel's "Messiah" chorus?? ;-)

It's not a part of an opera, it IS an opera. I'm sorry for unintentionally misleading you, I probably described it in a cflumsy way, but it's difficult to define opera without saying too much.

It was composed in the 19th century, the vocals are sung by men and women, and the singers are accompanied by an orchestra.

It was not composed by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt or Handel.
