This is a variation on a theme of Francesca's "Who am I?" thread. The rules are the same, only in this case it would probably be best if we asked one question at a time :).

Its history goes back more than one thousand years.

Whoa! Um, on Earth??
Kidding :)
So, my usual spiel then; but this time...
In the Pacific? Atlantic? Indian? Arctic? Southern? That's everything right there :)
Is it in NEW ZEALANDIA? (That oughta make *somebody* happy :)
Is it in the Western/Eastern, Northern/Southern Hemisphere?

Is it considered part of a continent? If so: North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Oceania, Antarctica, Europe?

Yes, it's on Earth. *Chuckle.*
It's located in the Arctic Ocean, though I've heard it also being described as in the Atlantic.
Umm, no, it's not in New Zealandia, or either of those included countries. Sorry, Leddie. ;-)
It is considered to be part of a continent. It's in North America. That would make it in the Northern and Western hemispheres. ;-)

OK, Nunavut, so it's one of the islands off northeast Canada? Problem is, I don't know what any of them are called...
