This is a variation on a theme of Francesca's "Who am I?" thread. The rules are the same, only in this case it would probably be best if we asked one question at a time :).

I'll start:

Its history goes back more than one thousand years.

*Not in Greenland
*Is in New Zealand.

And aren't islands formally included in continents?

From Wiki: New Zealand is not part of the continent of Australia, but of the separate, submerged continent of Zealandia. Zealandia and Australia are both part of the wider regions known as Australasia and Oceania.

I THOUGHT of changing Australia to Australasia, but felt too lazy to change it in the end...anyway, I'll leave the guessing to somebody with some knowledge on this, before I start googling like crazy :)

Northern island or Southern?? Was this castle built after 1850, or before?? Did it house nobility, or just a rich eccentric, or perhaps nobody at all?? Is it known for its grounds also??

*SOUTH Island

*The castle was built after 1850 by a ''rich eccentric'' or as wiki puts it: ''a prominent entrepreneur and politician '' and yes, the grounds are nice but known more than the castle.

I looked it up *looks around guiltily*; Hey! I said I'd only be able to hold off for so long! * Fine, if somebody can do it on their own, that's awesome; I wouldn't be able to give you all a proper place, anyway, like Breit already knows :)

Go on, then.

Got me. I've no clue what it is. *Goes off to join Bela in her "guilty" researching efforts.*

Hmmm...

Is our Castle reputed to be haunted??

Any chance we're talking about Larnach Castle?? Or maybe Cargill Castle??

Larnach's Castle is the castle it has.

(and yes, the ballroom is supposedly haunted by his daughter.. it was built for her 16th or 18th birthday, I can't remember which. According to wiki, his wife is reported to haunt the castle too, but I never heard about that growing up. We did however scare ourselves about his daughter and the ballroom as kids)

But what is it?
