This is a variation on a theme of Francesca's "Who am I?" thread. The rules are the same, only in this case it would probably be best if we asked one question at a time :).
I'll start:
Its history goes back more than one thousand years.

Well done, Bela! It is indeed Vatican City.
Now it is your turn to take us .... somewhere. Where will it be?

Oh, gee, look at that; I actually won(?) I'll get back to fainting soon, but before that: the place I've thought of is *not* a real place. It's kinda the first thing you think of when someone says, "Not a real place"

Atlantis? Well, it's the first thing I think of when someone says that. :)

Heaven?
Home?
Nirvana?
The moon?
None of the above? Then a question - is this "not a real place" of this real world, or of another world (real or imaginary)?

Yeah, yeah. I know. None of the above is a city.
But the question still goes.

Yours is a very close second, Cordy, and I really did think of posting that...well, there goes that one-post-win :P
But, no, it isn't Atlantis, or any of the others...

And, it is not a *real place* of the real world, as Atlantis is rumoured to be...it's totally made up and the armoires there are fantastic, or so one hears.

OK, Bela. But just to be clear, is it on Earth?

Yeah, fictionally, it is somewhere, somehow, on Earth...where else would you get such fantastic furniture?!
