This is a variation on a theme of Francesca's "Who am I?" thread. The rules are the same, only in this case it would probably be best if we asked one question at a time :).
I'll start:
Its history goes back more than one thousand years.

Francesca got it. It is in one of the Americas. ;-) So that would be a no to the rest of the continents. Sorry. ;-)

In Africa.
In Eurasia.
In Australia.

Whoa, I don't really know a lot about American geography, so, um, is it a desert? Near the coast? Nevada?! (Sorry, but like you now know, I really am terrible at it :P I'll stick to narrowing it down for the others :)

Wow!! For somebody who doesn't know a lot about American geography, you sure made some good guesses!! ;-D Unfortunately, this place is not in the desert, near the coast, or in Nevada. But you did very well with those!! Keep trying, Bela. You're doing just fine. (A small hint: try narrowing it down by regions (West, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, etc.). That might make things a bit easier to start with. ;-)
I'll do the full wrap-up later tonight, but there ya go, folks!! Have fun!! ;-D
