Well, since we're very good with this whodunnit thing, I decided to launch this little game here.
It's pretty simple. I am someone (person, cartoon, book character, whatever) and everyone else can have a guess at who I am.
The one who guesses it has the next round, and we'll try to guess on him/her.
I hope this works. :-)
To start, I'll give you all one hint: I'm a real person.

Oooh, you know who I am? Or who Bela is, rather?? That'd be pretty awesome. And I'll wait for an answer this time, instead of charging right in! :)

And I asked cuz all the ideas of him being an actor, a terrorist, etc. seemed hiilarious! (to you, at least)

And cuz of the "heaven" things, is he associated with religion, or summat??
I'm stumped.

Let's recapitulate: the mysterious man is a European who was born between 1st and 11th centuries A.D. Was he a king, or saint, or pope? Was he English, Scottish, Italian, Spanish, German or French?

There's something in the "pope" there, Daenerys. Maybe, Breit doesn't know Bela but focused on the III part.

Bela? III? Do you mean Bela III, king of Hungary (and Croatia)? Had I lived in the 12th century, he would have been my king :D. But he was born too late to be our mysterious man.

Because I promised Breit that I would do this before I slept, here we go:

No Bela, unless you have something to do with bela Lugosi, I don't know about your origins. Anne might, but she's not here to ask. As she told me, she got the idea for this guy out of the reference to Vulcan. Mull that over a while, folks. Sorry Bela!!

Next one, yes, he is associated with religion.

Next one sub one. He was not a making or a pope. He was a SAINT! (YEH!!! we got one)

Next one sub two. He was not French, German, Italian, Spanish, or Scottish. He was ENGLISH.

Next one sub three. No he was not king of Hungary or Croatia. Repeat, our guy was not a king.

Next one sub four. Thought we'd done this one already, but in today's geographical terms, our guy is from WESTERN Europe, not eastern.

Next two. Oh nuts, you all didn't leave me a second subject to deal with. NUTS!

You all will get your recap tomorrow. Until then, go English saint hunting. There should only be several hundred to sort through. Have fun! L

"Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?" :D Is it Thomas Becket? But he's the wrong century. So perhaps Edward the Confessor?

hi again! glad to see that you started with the basics. and no our guy is not among the basics. he isn't thomas beckett. and edward the confessor was a king if i remember correctly. not sure about that today but i'll check. as for turbulence, yes i guess if you ask the right people, he was very turbulent (and according to them, NOT with the program). so in recap:

Our guy is:

A male.
A human.
Born on Earth.
Definitely a real person.
Has had at least one statue of him erected.
Comes "from heaven."
Was born before 1800.
Was born more than 500 years ago.
Was born more than 1000 years ago.
Was WESTERN European.
Is associated with religion.
Was and is a SAINT.
Was ENGLISH.
************************

Our guy is NOT or does NOT:

A female.
From an otherworldly place.
A mythical character.
Considered sexy or svelte. (Still laughin' at that one!! ;-)
A politician. (Same comment above applies. ;-)
An actor. (Ditto. ;-)
A terrorist. (Double ditto. ;-D
Currently alive.
American.
Have a statue placed in the U.S. (as far as I know).
Born more than 2000 years ago.
Roman.
An Emperor.
Jesus Christ.
God (the Christian version, or any other religious One).
Born in Rio de Janeiro.
A king or pope.
King of Hungary or Croatia
Eastern European
French, German, Italian, Spanish, or Scottish
Thomas Beckett
Edward the Confessor.

our guy is repeat NOT any of those. he IS an English Saint (in 200 point type). have fun and happy saint hunting. GO! L

You're in luck, Daenerys! Edward the Confessor (aka as the last king of the house of Wessex) was canonized (declared a saint) a hundred years after he died in 1161. He was also the predecessor to Harold I (aka the guy shot in the eye while fighting Willian the Conqueror, or as the english call him, William the Bastard. and yes, he was one. but since the guy we're looking for was never a king, Edward's out of the running! Good luck and carry on! Luc
