Pickpocketing

Amazing how long I seem to be able to play this game without noticing stuff.

I just did a favour case where the client was guilty. I have pickpocketing. Afterwards my cash had gone up from $126000 and a bit to $127000 and a bit. Not sure of the exact reward received, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting.

Has it always been like that? And if so, is it deliberate or just a bit of a glitch?

If you have pick pocketing you will get paid if the client is guilty. This has always been this way ;)

I don't think it was a favour you did as the townie is the client and your reward is not cash. (turns to cash when you sell the item received)

anne told me that the only way that happens is if you're not in an agency. normally the money would be deposited in the agency's safe. but my memory's fuzzy, i'm not an expert and anne's not here. so hang on and i'll ask her when she gets back. ok? ;0) L

Nope, doesn't matter if your in an agency or not. If you have pickpocketing you will always get your money. If it's an AI case, instead of an item reward you will get a grand and some change. Always been this way

Doh! Good point Carrie about it not being a favour if there's a client at all! My brain obviously wasn't operating yesterday. Dunno what happened to the favour case, though. Either I did it in some kind of fugue, or I meant to go and get it and actually started a new AI case instead. It's clear that I need to concentrate more, either way...

You are not alone Cordy. I just failed a villain hunt through going west instead of east. After a long clean record of no fails whatsoever, I've had 3 in the past month - each one due to some simple failure of concentration. I knew we should have gone away on that long post-Christmas holiday like my other half suggested!

I wonder how much it would take to bribe a mod to delete this thread completely... Can they do that?

We can do anything for the right price! ;-)

Or you could simply bump all kinds of old threads up and forever relish this one to page 2 and beyond!

I said that?? Since when?? :-.

PICKPOCKETING works by paying the client's fee DIRECTLY to the detective, not the Agency, however much it is. No pickpocketing, no money if you have a guilty client.

TREASURE HUNTS pay their prize money directly to the Agency's safe, not any one detective. That may be where Luc's confusion lies.

LOCKPICKING involves absolutely no money whatsoever. It simply gives you either a motive or alibi question for up to two suspects per case, free of charge, as long as you have the skill. No lockpicking, no free questions. And no, you DO NOT get to choose which questions get answered. The server automatically chooses for you.

Hope all that clears up the confusion, at least for some people. ;-)
