OK so yes, I am aware of a spate of bugs. Really my inbox tells me so every day.

The main one that seems to be grabbing a range of people is where you try to solve a case (usually a favour) and you get booted to the error screen.

** Your only option at this point is to QUIT. **

That's unacceptable, I know and understand that.

I can only give you the somewhat well-worn phrase 'Ben's working on it'.

There are other minor things that are happening with Nemesis that don't really seem to be too game-changing, except to say:

* Beef Flaps is roaming Sleuthville in neverending circles trying to find an HOURGLASS. If anyone is also having this problem, or they have gotten past this mission please let me know, or Beef Flaps.

* there 'might' be a problem boarding the Sleuthetania. It gets used so rarely that it's hard to know if this is wide-spread or user-based just from bug reports.

I apologise (for what that's worth from someone who has no control over fixing stuff) for the inconvenience this is causing subscribers.

I will endeavour to harrass the appropriate code monkeys.

Yesterday, I tried to use my nemesis hunt reward on my Fennec Fox and got this message:

So I just noticed that SS is now unsubscribed and hasn't been on in over a week. Ben is also a no show? What is happening to this place? Has it officially fallen apart?

I wouldn't hit the Panic Button just yet, Beef. ;-)

Ben has a habit of being truant (ie.--not being around for a few days, then suddenly appearing out of the blue), for as long as I've been here. It means diddly. He'll show up in a day or two, sunglasses and fez in tow.

As for Squirrel, again, don't panic. He's been dealing with the schlock from Noir and Shades for a couple years now, and was an Editor and Moderator for several more years before that. It gets tiring to constantly have to deal with people's complaints, harangues, and petty arguements. So all us old fogeys take a few days off from time to time to decompress. He'll show up shortly, macadamias at the ready. As for the unsubbed thing, I woke up yesterday and signed on here to find out I was unsubbed too. Surprised the hell outta me. So I reupped and went on with business. No problemo. He'll do the same when he gets back from whatever coconut tree he's been climbing. ;-)

When they haven't been around on either Shades or Noir in more than a month, I'd say it's time to send out the Coast Guard. But. If you're REALLLLY concerned, the Subscriber Center has a number that you can reach Admin at and find out what's going on. It's (U.S.) (206) 788-7515. I'd suggest calling it in about 9 or 10 hours from now, because you'll wake the baby right now (it's a Seattle, Washington, USA number), and prob'ly make both Ben and Sunny a tad cranky. But there is that option. ;-)

Hope that helps a bit, perhaps?? ;-)

I really do think they'll be back in a day or two. But thanks for caring and worrying. ;-)

Thanks Breitkat, but I'm not calling about something lost in my equipment locker. These issues just shouldn't take 2+ weeks to get a response on. I'm seeing why so many of the veterans have packed up and called it quits over the past few months. My subscription is coming to an end soon as well, and I'll be doing the same thing. As much fun as this place used to be, it's just lost that enjoyment.

I agree with you 100% Beef Flaps. I understand that Ben has more pressing things to worry about and Sleuth isn't really a huge money maker for him, it's more of a hobby, but that's not an excuse for poor customer service. I've made my feelings known about that on more than one occassion

Ok.

1. Yes, so I've been a bit AWOL. No apologies for having a complicated life - it's mine after all. There isn't anyone who's been around a long time that can say they haven't disappeared for weeks, month... years lol on end. lol I mean in 2006 it seems I missed a whole day lol. But yes, even volunteers get time off...

2. Ben's busy doing other stuff. That's his business and will be his cross to bear when he finally gets back to people. I tell him there are problems, I can't fix them, but I encourage him to fix them. That's all I can do.

3. I've pulled the pin on Shades as an Admin / Mod / Player. I don't have the time. Simple as that. Ben will eventually notify the Shades players of that I'm sure. :) I'm hoping that gives me more time & inclination to spend here in Noir in some capacity or another.

4. Yes I agree customer service in the technical department is somewhat lacking. And I have stated elsewhere many times that it should be better or lol exist. :D

5. The subbed / unsubbed thing should really not be on my page as the game's kind of open to me anyway. I'll press a button later. And if anyone is suggesting Ben should be subbed and pay money to himself.. well *snort* But yes I suppose it looks bad and is good for a bit of angry fist shaking at the world if you're that way inclined, that is.

5. No updates on the bugs, sorry. See 2 & 4.

Happy Sleuthing.

OK, I hate quick fixes, but... PM me with whatever missing equipment the locker ghost has eaten.

I'll just refund it.

Perhaps if you have an alt. in your Agency you're not using or who can afford to have an open slot, ask me to send the item to that. Don't bug report it just send me a PM.

But yes I need to be able to push it into an open hand or bare foot, or err empty head...

Don't worry SS. After waiting for months I've given up. The lack of reasonably timed help just reconfirmed why I've left previously and why so many regulars have called it quits yet again, as I'm doing. Thanks for the help in the past. To Ben....realize that although this is a game, people pay for subscriptions. Unresolving issues for months is unfair to people and in the end is just stealing my money.
