I am happy to announce that the latest expansion to Sleuth: Noir, the Nemesis Hunt, is officially live as of 23:00 server time on September 9th, 2012. That is a full hour AHEAD of the scheduled update time, so first off let me start by thanking Ben for everything he has done to enable this expansion from day 1. He has been very open and supportive in this endeavor, and none of this could have been done without him. So thank you, Ben.

Now, on to the good stuff... how do nemesis hunts work?

If you have captured 3 or more Arch-Villains (10 starting October 1st), you are able to start a Nemesis Hunt. The first step is to head to Shangri-La and talk to the Prince.

...and that is the only step I will give you.

Good luck everyone! There is a special achievement on the line for the first person to capture a Nemesis, so get to it...

I am trying to locate the wherabouts of the hourglass. I have been to all 4 cities with no luck, i dont have access to Cairo so i am assuming the answer cannot be there, i have also been to Shangri-La with no luck, i have circled the globe twice with no joy. I have not yet tried the sluethtania boat which i have never been on before, is there anyone that might be able to help?

You're asking the right question. You must ask everyone in all the cities including Cairo which I've noticed you don't have access to. I don't know if the Nemesis Hunt takes this into consideration and lets you bypass it like the regular Villain Hunt, if not then you will have to open up Cairo. I don't know if the Sleuthetania is included in the NHs but maybe someone else can answer that. You can always ask Serges, perhaps you've encountered one of the NH bugs.

Thanks i am on sleuthetania now with no luck, so the only answer can be cairo although i dont have access to it, i dont think its good if the answer is in cairo if i cant get there

I second Turtledove. The hunt probably doesn't take into account your having no access to Cairo.

Slight possibility that the bug should repeat as it was already fixed and hasn't surfaced to this day, not that I know of. There has been no such publicly posted report either...

BTW, reread Serges' original post. It says nothing about Cairo, nor does it say that Nemesis proceeds akin to VH.

A few forward thinking questions about nemesis hunt rewards (hopefully its been long enough that there are no spoilers)...

Can multiple sleuths contribute to the same reward item? I'm okay with 'no' (to help stave off the eventuality of super items), but if 'yes' then how does the name tagging work? All sleuths? First sleuth? Most recent sleuth?

Is there any protection to prevent the sell of reward items by someone other than the owner? Can there be? These things take a TON of work and I'd hate to lose one in a house cleaning accident or the rare bad apple locker raid.

Hello! My task is to become the head of the faction. Can I skip this task instead? Or I have to do this task before I can move on with the hunt?
