I am happy to announce that the latest expansion to Sleuth: Noir, the Nemesis Hunt, is officially live as of 23:00 server time on September 9th, 2012. That is a full hour AHEAD of the scheduled update time, so first off let me start by thanking Ben for everything he has done to enable this expansion from day 1. He has been very open and supportive in this endeavor, and none of this could have been done without him. So thank you, Ben.

Now, on to the good stuff... how do nemesis hunts work?

If you have captured 3 or more Arch-Villains (10 starting October 1st), you are able to start a Nemesis Hunt. The first step is to head to Shangri-La and talk to the Prince.

...and that is the only step I will give you.

Good luck everyone! There is a special achievement on the line for the first person to capture a Nemesis, so get to it...

^seems it is not that SS...what EDen says is that through only 1 nemesis case he can get as many missions as he likes

lol.

Update - Just copying and pasting what I have written in our agency thread-:

"I still haven't finished any of the 3 extra tasks, they can still be seen on my profile page but I get different clues each time I visit the townies where these tasks were given.

This means I not only get free tasks but also free clues!! This is bad. Let me summarize:

1. You solve an AI nemesis case. You learn which townie to visit for a task .
2. You don't sell the gear.
3. You instead refresh the page and make the accusation again. You get other townies to visit. This goes on for as many times as you want.
4. Now you have X number of tasks. You visit each townie. You see that you have different tasks to complete.
5. You complete one of the tasks. You not only get a clue from the townie who assigned you that task,
6. But you also visit the other X-1 number of townies who gave you a mission and receive clues from them without even finishing the tasks that they assigned.
7. This time on your detective profile page, however, you don't see "get clue from the blah blah townie" anymore, but the extra tasks appear to have remained on the list since unfinished."

...

I have posted these problems here instead of PMing Serges thinking that it would be more functional because other people might have experienced similar things and if so, then all of it could be accumulated here, and particular details might strike as meaningful when viewed together but there hasn't been any similar feedback. Should I, then, PM Serges instead?

The bug is even far more nasty. I tested it and i now (hehehe) i know what some of our fellows did to advance fast their nemesis hunt. It is very very easy for all to do.
1. You may get as many clues leading to mission you like.
2. Go around the cities and collect all the mission ( i think that there is absolutely no limit)...
3. Choose the most convinient mission and do it
4. Once 1 mission is done you can go around to all mission givers and get all clues at once

Is really a terible nasty glitch making you able to finish all nemesis hunt in a day or two

Thanks a lot Eden for bringing this out

Just as a proof how are my missions after i have already supplied the first from my page

Return to the Bartender in New York to get the next clue from your nemesis
Return to the Tea Merchant in London to get the next clue from your nemesis
Return to the Tailor in New York to get the next clue from your nemesis
Return to the Holy Man in Delhi to get the next clue from your nemesis

As you see i have done 1 mission and i get 5 clues (i suppose i could get any number at aonce).

Hmmm - I wondered why some people seemed to be leaping way ahead almost overnight. Now I'm wondering just how poor Serges is going to handle this one? It will make the eventual 'winner' of this first hunt rather tainted 'cos we'll all be wondering ....

Perhaps wipe out everyone's clues - take us all back to zero - and then start again when the bug is fixed? Seems drastic but how else can there be a level playing field again?

We can think of this as yet another period of testing? After all, this is a wholly new (and fantastic too) feature to the game and maybe with all the excitement we -as players and fans- had, we just rushed it.
I wouldn't participate in it any longer though as I have only 74 grand left. One of my missions was(is) placing bets and the rest required me to travel a lot, plus I had just upgraded my flat before the hunt started. lol. I need to make some Sleuth money.

I understand the argument that after this hunt we'll always wonder if the glitch was exploited by anyone, so I'd like to know if the server is storing a log about this hunt that can be made public. I'm sure that can help.

I'm willing to accept whatever decision the administrators make, but I find insulting the allegations that any user has been exploiting a glitch to gain advantage, we've been working hard to get clues about that puzzle just to find out that someone thinks we're cheating.

I completely agree with Andrew. Some of us have worked really hard on our clues...Individually.

I got a double clue with my alt Lucinda Jean, but reported it immediately. And since I won't have much time for Sleuth here soon, will let her sub run out at the end of the month anyway.

There has to be a way to tell who has worked the nemesis hunt fairly, and who hasn't.

I am only behind because I had 4 days off ;)

Lets just continue and work on fixing bugs. If we need about 28 clues then I for one do not want to start over.
