I am happy to announce that the latest expansion to Sleuth: Noir, the Nemesis Hunt, is officially live as of 23:00 server time on September 9th, 2012. That is a full hour AHEAD of the scheduled update time, so first off let me start by thanking Ben for everything he has done to enable this expansion from day 1. He has been very open and supportive in this endeavor, and none of this could have been done without him. So thank you, Ben.

Now, on to the good stuff... how do nemesis hunts work?

If you have captured 3 or more Arch-Villains (10 starting October 1st), you are able to start a Nemesis Hunt. The first step is to head to Shangri-La and talk to the Prince.

...and that is the only step I will give you.

Good luck everyone! There is a special achievement on the line for the first person to capture a Nemesis, so get to it...

I think so Rebecca - once you look at your detective page, and it has no task which involves the nemesis, you'll have to try AI cases again until he "contacts" you again - got my first clue today, so yeah... it's so cryptic, I thought the tasks themselves were easy enough :p

Rebecca:
That is correct. You have to complete your current task before your nemesis will interfere with your cases again.

There have been a small number of reports coming in about things not working exactly right with the nemesis hunt expansion. For instance, someone was apparently able to get the nemesis twist on an "easy" case the first day, and now someone not in a nemesis hunt has gotten a nemesis-related message when trying to file a case. I'm tracking down and fixing these bugs as they're reported, but please do me a few favors if you experience or hear of a similar situation:

1) Please PM me rather than Ben/SS/filing a bug report. I'm the person in the best position to track down and fix these issues when it comes to the nemesis expansion.
2) Please offer as much detail as possible. The bugs we're finding now are in rare edge-case scenarios that weren't tested for; the more information I get about how a particular bug came up, the more likely I am to be able to fix it.

Thanks!

I confess, lol. I'm the one who got the twist (the enveloppe one) by solving an easy case which I had stored in my apt.

No need to "confess", turtledove. :)

Stored case files seem to be the biggest source of these little hiccups; Ben and I implemented some measures a day or so ago that hopefully should rectify the glitch that gave you your nemesis twist on a stored case.

There might still be a few minor bugs floating out there though... time will tell.

Would you believe that on my very first case after starting the nemesis hunt, I got my first clue? I hope that the rest is this easy!!

Are you sure you got your clue fillemaligne or just your mission to get your clue?

Obviously she is refering to the clue that leads to the mission on how to get the real clue as the real clue is given only after a mission and not after a case

After 40 cases and you had to quit heh?!. I suppose that this may happen very frequently as nemesis cases are much much harder than VH cases. With absolutely no contact help a case may prove to be hard to solve especially if you have 2-3 people clammed
