Serges has been hard at work on a very cool update these past few months, and he's finally ready to release his creation on Sleuth Noir players.

I'll let him reveal or not reveal whatever he sees fit, but the broad outline is: this expansion provides new content for advanced players who have already captured multiple Arch Villains.

Stay tuned

As promised, here are some details about the new expansion:

The expansion centers around a new type of hunt, where you will be attempting to capture your "nemesis". Only detectives who have proven their ability to catch arch-villains will be able to start a nemesis hunt.

The hunt will start in Shangri-La, and move to anywhere and everywhere from there.

Let me make something clear with this nemesis hunt: it will NOT be a quick process. Whereas a treasure hunt can take hours/days and a villain hunt can take days/weeks, the nemesis hunt will take weeks to months to finish.

However, the nemesis hunt doesn't stop you from going about your regular Sleuth business like a villain hunt does, so you can pursue as casually or as aggressively as you like.

There will be puzzles and riddles in addition to more mundane tasks.

Once you finish one, you WILL be able to do another, but you'll have to capture a certain number of villains between nemesis hunts.

And the reward for finishing a nemesis hunt? I'm not going to spoil it, but the reward for capturing your first nemesis is something I think everyone will enjoy, and the reward for capturing ANY nemesis is something never before seen.

In addition, I'm happy to answer any questions you might have leading up to the launch; I reserve the right, however, to keep some information secret for spoiler reasons.

How many arch-villians need to be caught before you can start your first nemesis hunt? Have I caught enough?

The total number is still being finalized, but it's currently set at 10 arch-villains for your first one, and 10 villains between nemesis hunts.

However, I hope that for the month of September, the number to start your first hunt will be 5. That way, those of you with a lot of experience but relatively few villain hunts under your belt can experience the expansion without having to wait. It would also encourage people to actively play over the next few weeks (and renew their subscriptions!)

Once October 1st hit though, the requirement would change to 10, and would stay that way. So yes, Carrie, you're covered. :)

Either way, my recommendation to anyone with less than 10 villain hunts under their belt is to get out there and start tracking down villains ASAP so you can check out the new expansion!
