I was doing really well. Worked my way up to very hard cases and then very very hard cases. Then, all of a sudden I have had to quit the last 2 very very hard cases cause everyone was clammed up. Then I went back to very hard cases and had to quit there too. Anyone else found this?

Some cases, you barely stand a chance. But if it happens often, I think you are better off taking a step down in level of playing, until you get more skills, clothes, contacts or any of that good stuff.

Thanks for writing back. I have found that I have had to come back to hard cases from very very hard cases. I originally moved up because I wanted the skill points faster and because I was solving the hard cases very easily and the very hard cases easily and the very very hard cases with a bit of work. Going back two steps is discouraging.

No worries, it will happen soon enough. It is still better to move down, then to quit, or pay shady.

I think it would be nice if, once everyone clammed up, there was a way to get going again, somehow - whether save the case and come back later when your equipement was better, or maybe yet a higher skill in charming (I have all the charming ones I can get, I think). Or maybe - if the witnesses all clam the townspeople will talk to me (or vice versa)
Happy New Year by the way.

Joie, by subscribing and joining an agency, you could get some help with some clammed witnesses some of the time.

Not to mention help from other agents' contacts amongst the townspeople.
