It is rumored that the ornate palace gates of Shangri-La have finally been opened to the public for the first time in known history. The Prince is making his debut into the public eye with a brilliant gala hosted by the Prince himself: an exclusive invitation-only event attended only by the most prominent and affluent people from countries all over the world.

Some commoners have been invited to this rare event--but not as guests. The Prince's most trusted advisor has particularly collected special operatives to patrol the event: the world's brightest, swiftest, and most skilled. You will be entrusted with making sure that everything goes off without a hitch. But there are those who would rather see the event go down in flames, along with the Prince himself.

Five minutes before the event is scheduled to start, a report of a most alarming nature reaches the operatives' ears. There has been a breach in the ranks. Some spies have infiltrated the group! But since they have never seen each other's faces, there is no way to tell whose allegiance is true. The team has been compromised, but there is still a chance to save the evening.

The operatives' job this evening is to make sure the Prince's gala goes off without a hitch. If he is pleased at the end of the night, they will be rewarded handsomely. Sources say he is forgiving of small mishaps, but when pushed too far...

The Prince's reputation is at stake. Will his gala be a phenomenal success, or will it succumb to the sabotage of the spies? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

OK. So what I can gather from this, is Vulkie claims to be Resistance, but doesn't really care about winning the game she signed up for or helping her team do it. She just wants to have fun on the message boards because that is the important part of this game we are playing.

*huh*

My spydar is going off so loud, it's smoking. Vulkie, if people think you are a spy, it is because you are acting like one. Which as I said before.... if you are Resistance, you are not helping your team at all. You may not care about winning, but I assure you the five other people you are playing with most likely do. And I got tricked by this the first time we played (*cough* Molly's twirling) and I won't let it happen again :-P

"You are not helping your team at all"- When I made a team, it got immediately neglected by (at least) 2 resistance people, because of some old paranoia from Serges first choice of 3 random people. Now evidently, 2 of those people have been in all teams made for the missions, and when I was in it, it got turned down.

So about the helping part... I'm doing the best I can, but if you don't trust me, I can't do very much to go against it, now can I? If this mission gets through and Adam makes a brilliant team and the next mission goes through, the Resistance is at 0-3 and then you won't need my "help" anymore.

Haha. I like that label. Twirling. Like I was a demented fairy-princess ballerina.

What argument? This is pure logical braincracking (maybe a little whiff of paranoia added, but suffice, in the end, the Resistance shall be victorious once so more)

While Adam is assembling his team, a disagreement breaks out amongst its members. Everyone wants to be on the team; everyone wants to be closer to Chastity. But Chastity merely smiles and tries to look coy. In the end, the original team carries out the mission, with a little toss-up in leadership. Serges stares at the group with arms crossed. Vulkie tries to staunch the bleeding from her nose after her failed attempt to take out Nic.

The team spends the evening in a square formation surrounding Chastity as she moves around the large ballroom greeting guests. Perhaps they are standing a little closer than they need to be, and perhaps it is obvious they keep trying to steal glances at her. Eventually she cycles around the room and it is time for her to make her way back to the Prince. But before she ascends the stairs, she turns and gives each team member a kiss on the cheek. Their faces burn as they quickly return to their posts. The shadow of a smile crosses the Prince's face.

Mission 2 consisting of a team of Molly Maltese, Adam Carter, nicnic, and Jason Arends was a SUCCESS.

The team members voted as follows:
???? SUCCESS
???? SUCCESS
???? SUCCESS
???? SUCCESS

Adam Carter is up next to propose the team for Mission 3 and to hand out the special abilities.

Well, if Adam just proposes the same team, everyone votes yes + succeed, we can all go relax in the Sleuth Bar and have a nice and quiet drink :p

MISSION 3: Festivities on Fire

As the evening progresses, things seem to settle down. It has been hours since there has been a mishap, and there is hope that it will stay quiet. Violins play softly in the background as the guests partner up to dance. The air smells of flowers, liquor, and...smoke? There is some confusion as the guests wonder at the source of the smell. A servant is dispatched to the kitchens, but returns to report that there is nothing wrong down there. The general air begins to turn from revelry to worry as the guests comment on the noticeable rise in temperature of the room.

Suddenly, there is a choked gasping noise from above. The Prince's closest advisor quickly hurries down the grand staircase and barrels most ineloquently towards Adam Carter, who happens to be standing close by. "Fire! There is a ring of fire surrounding the palace!" he hisses into Adam's ear. The pair observes as the room's curtains are surreptitiously drawn shut and the volume of the music is conveniently raised. "Assemble a team and put it out, otherwise we shall all be roasted alive! GO!" The advisor gives Adam a push. Overhead, the Prince crosses his arms.

Adam Carter is the leader for Mission 3.

Mission 3 will consist of FOUR team members.

The team leader has been given three advantages to distribute to whomever he sees fit. They are:

-NO CONFIDENCE: Receiver of this card can veto a successful vote on a mission proposal, causing it to fail and forcing leadership to change.
-KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON YOU: Receiver of this card may look at one team member's action on a mission after the mission results are in.
-OPINION MAKER: Receiver of this card must vote publicly on whether or not to approve a mission for the rest of the game.

Adam should now distribute these abilities to other team members or keep one for himself.

Adam, please assign these abilities whenever you're ready.

I think that we're in for a surprise, I just can't believe that this is that easy, all those votes looks really strange, especially because the team that Serges proposed had Vulkie in it, who in turn cleared Adam, who in turn... it's really confusing, and it's a shame the only way we have to trust everyone is because of those votes, and even then..., I think i have an idea about the next distribution of powers, and I hope I'm wrong.
