It is rumored that the ornate palace gates of Shangri-La have finally been opened to the public for the first time in known history. The Prince is making his debut into the public eye with a brilliant gala hosted by the Prince himself: an exclusive invitation-only event attended only by the most prominent and affluent people from countries all over the world.

Some commoners have been invited to this rare event--but not as guests. The Prince's most trusted advisor has particularly collected special operatives to patrol the event: the world's brightest, swiftest, and most skilled. You will be entrusted with making sure that everything goes off without a hitch. But there are those who would rather see the event go down in flames, along with the Prince himself.

Five minutes before the event is scheduled to start, a report of a most alarming nature reaches the operatives' ears. There has been a breach in the ranks. Some spies have infiltrated the group! But since they have never seen each other's faces, there is no way to tell whose allegiance is true. The team has been compromised, but there is still a chance to save the evening.

The operatives' job this evening is to make sure the Prince's gala goes off without a hitch. If he is pleased at the end of the night, they will be rewarded handsomely. Sources say he is forgiving of small mishaps, but when pushed too far...

The Prince's reputation is at stake. Will his gala be a phenomenal success, or will it succumb to the sabotage of the spies? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

Of course you would be good with that biggie ;-)

Why in the HELL would we do anything other than pick the same team that went the first time and succeeded (two of which are holding powers to out others) plus one person?

Molly, come back to me dear.

That is also valid. Hmm.

Well the votes haven't come back yet on my proposed mission, which is the same one that was overthrown. If its approved, we're golden. If its not, we'll have a look at the voting patterns and then figure out where we can go from there.

I do wish people would hurry up and vote though, we are getting alllll kinds of antsy! Haha.

(And also note: the longer we wait, the more we type. >:] So if you like reading novels...*ahem*)

It got approved the first time it was proposed. Can't imagine why it wouldn't get approved this time.

Also remember that the spies biggest strategy is to create confusion to those of us who are in the dark. Stay the course, Molly :-)

If yours gets voted down, then Adam goes and will probably propose the same team. If that gets voted down, then Vulkie goes and will probably propose the same team he did the first time and the Resistance HAS TO approve that one or we lose the game. I would prefer this one gets approved because then Adam is the next mission leader and gets cards and I trust that he will do the right thing with them much like he did the first time.

I think the issue we have with introducing unknowns into the team is exactly that they are unknown. It may not mean much that the first mission was proposed, but it makes a stronger case for that team being resistance than the players who haven't stepped up yet.

The way I see it is this: Nic knows Spy 101. She talked about it in the last game. She knows that spies should never let the resistance go 1-0 up. The fact that mission 1 succeeded and she was on it, in my mind, makes it more likely she's not a spy. If she sabotages mission 2, there are enough cards flying round to make her look very suspect. She could have sabotaged mission 1 and laid the blame on Molly, or me, with the bonus of getting Vulkie roped in too. Waiting till mission 2 makes no sense in my book. The same could be said for Molly, but I am starting to get a little suspicious now. As for me, if I were a spy, AND chose not to sabotage mission 1, I made an awful play handing out the cards the way I did. I have no control over who Nic checks on if a mission fails, and she could easily rat me out.

Of course, me and Nic could both be spies. But, why would I put her on my team? And vote for a team that included us both in Mission 1, when so much was unknown? and NEITHER of us sabotaged? Come on.

But let us not forget; if this team is scuppered, it is my turn again. This is our last chance to pick whether we want a team, as we will HAVE to go with Vulkie's team, or the spies get a point. My statistics show that, by confirming me as resistance, Vulkie is MORE likely to be a spy than not. So the cards have a greater than 50% chance to be heavily loaded for the final battle.

By the sound of what's going down in here, I'm already lining up my next team at the pass...

If I were a spy, I would have sabotaged Mission 1. End of story. I know some people disagree with that strategy, but I would have done it to get the spies an early lead.

See nic, this is the worst. This happened to me in the last game too, when biggie nearly lured me away from the Resistance. I sit here going, "oh thats reasonable."
"Oh thats reasonable too!"
"But so is that!"

And then my head spins around like the Exorcist chick.

Me too sorry :)

"Why in the HELL would we do anything other than pick the same team that went the first time and succeeded (two of which are holding powers to out others) plus one person?"

I suppose I wasn't really thinking in terms of who has what powers. I went back and just reread this ENTIRE thread and here's what I'm thinking:

Serges and Andi are probably spies. Vulkie could very probably be the third.

To me, that means Adam is most likely Resistance, and Vulkie just outed him as such to throw suspicion off himself.

I guess my main question is why are we all assuming Nic is Resistance? I did it too, thinking there was a card used on her somewhere, but there wasn't. Adam just posted something to the effect of "she won't put forth this much effort to find out info she already knows". If she's a halfway intelligent spy, thats EXACTLY what she'd do.

I proposed a team of unknowns because SOMETHING has to give here. Its pretty obvious that the spies seem to be somewhat ok with the various teams being proposed here, all of which include the same people. Lets see what the spies do with the other players. We don't have to pass the mission, just see how the votes play out.
