It is rumored that the ornate palace gates of Shangri-La have finally been opened to the public for the first time in known history. The Prince is making his debut into the public eye with a brilliant gala hosted by the Prince himself: an exclusive invitation-only event attended only by the most prominent and affluent people from countries all over the world.

Some commoners have been invited to this rare event--but not as guests. The Prince's most trusted advisor has particularly collected special operatives to patrol the event: the world's brightest, swiftest, and most skilled. You will be entrusted with making sure that everything goes off without a hitch. But there are those who would rather see the event go down in flames, along with the Prince himself.

Five minutes before the event is scheduled to start, a report of a most alarming nature reaches the operatives' ears. There has been a breach in the ranks. Some spies have infiltrated the group! But since they have never seen each other's faces, there is no way to tell whose allegiance is true. The team has been compromised, but there is still a chance to save the evening.

The operatives' job this evening is to make sure the Prince's gala goes off without a hitch. If he is pleased at the end of the night, they will be rewarded handsomely. Sources say he is forgiving of small mishaps, but when pushed too far...

The Prince's reputation is at stake. Will his gala be a phenomenal success, or will it succumb to the sabotage of the spies? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

Is this the part where one might say "I told you so?" ^_^

In any event, I doubt this mission will fail. If there IS a spy on the team, it's unlikely they'll risk exposure this early, at least based on prior experience. Time will tell though...

"Also, on a side note this is crazy playing this on a message board, everyone talks so much about very confusing things. And so much suspiscion so early. " - THANK YOU KAGOME! Seriously its where i get confused.

And yeah Molly, biggies right calling anything i do methodical is giving me WAY too much credit. Looking over how the votes went on that mission im not sure about anything, but as its been stated this is only the first mission.

That does give one pause for thought. It is possible that spies are voting yes merely because voting no would prove suspicious and fruitless. Thats the only thing that makes sense to me. I know I'm Resistance, I'm fairly confident in Adam Carter being, and something in me wants to trust nic.

Course that got me in trouble in the last game *accusatory stare at biggie* but it is indeed a new day.

Vote sent.

While the original team Serges has assembled is preparing, there comes a high-pitched scream from behind them. Molly and Adam throw themselves to the side. Vulkie, confused, turns to see a large peacock barreling towards her. It smacks into her and knocks her to the ground, rendering her momentarily unconscious. Gathering her wits, Molly quickly grabs Adam and nicnic (who is nearby), and the three take off in hot pursuit of the bird.

The peacock heads toward the middle of the room. "Split up!" Molly orders, and the three take different paths in pursuit. The guests look around in mild confusion as the team swiftly and quietly dodge around them. The peacock slides to a halt in the middle of the room, its eyes growing wide as the trio converge on it. Deftly, the team seizes the giant bird around the middle, intertwining their arms to prevent it from escaping, and dash outside to the garden. The Prince's gaze follows them.

Mission 1 consisting of a team of Molly Maltese, nicnic, and Adam Carter was a SUCCESS.

The team members voted as follows:
???? SUCCESS
???? SUCCESS
???? SUCCESS

Adam Carter is up next to propose the team for Mission 2 and to hand out the special abilities.

MISSION 2: Preserving Chastity's Chastity

The Prince is rumored to house many virgins under his palatial roof, each of whom serves him in different capacities, and each individually chosen by the Prince himself for certain eye-catching qualities. Scantily clothed, they flit about the palace grounds, catching the particular attention of the gentlemen assembled here this evening...and even a few ladies. With their skin aglow and a confident reassuring smile, they quickly put the guests at ease.

Suddenly a scream breaks the soft lull of conversation. The guests look around, trying to discern the source of the outburst. But there is nothing to be seen. Above, the Prince thins his lips into a straight line.

The operatives soon notice the Prince's closest advisor shepherding a young woman towards Adam Carter. "This is Chastity, the Prince's favorite girl," he says in an undertone. "Someone in the crowd has...has...acted in a most uncouth manner." He clears his throat. "Gather a few others to help guard her. For the sake of the Prince, let us hope Chastity can live up to her name by the end of this night."

Adam Carter is the leader for Mission 2.

Mission 2 will consist of FOUR team members.

The team leader has been given three advantages to distribute to whomever he sees fit. They are:

- IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Owner of this card may force a team member on any mission to post succeed or sabotage a mission on the message board, instead of privately via PM.
- KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON YOU: Receiver of this card may look at one team member's action on a mission after the mission results are in.
- STRONG LEADER: Receiver of this card can use this to automatically become leader for the next mission.

Adam should now distribute these abilities to other team members or keep one for himself.

Adam, please assign these abilities whenever you're ready.

At the moment, all we have to go on is that I, Molly and Nicnic, are *most likely* resistance. Everyone else is unknown. On that basis, I shall distribute like so:

I shall keep IN THE SPOTLIGHT. The intention is that it shall be used on a player who joins the mission team who is "untested."

I shall give STRONG LEADER to Molly. I am fairly convinced of her alliegance, plus it gives me another bite at the cherry straight after her.

So Nicnic will get KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON YOU. I trust that she is resistance as I have said, and I know she will use this card well when it is needed.

For the team, I will keep it unchanged from last time, and introduce Jason Arends. Hopefully, by forcing IN THE SPOTLIGHT on him, it should help the resistance sail to a comfortable 2-0 lead.

While it seems Adam's intentions with this team are noble, I have my reservations. Specifically, at least 2 (3 if Vulkie is to be trusted) spies approved the last mission. That's a LOT of spies to approve a mission that's made up of nothing but Resistance people. The spies are behind one mission now, and need to make some sort of play soon. I have a sneaking suspicion that there's a spy in the team from the first mission. I have my theory as to who, but I'm certainly not going to tip off the spies by calling anyone out.

In any event, I know this seems like the best move for Adam on paper, but I really can't endorse it. The last 2 games here, a spy was on the first 2 missions, cleared mission 1 and sabotaged mission 2. I think with the powers available at the moment, we could get some different members on the team safely, and help offset the risk involved with the wolf in sheeps' clothing scenario we might have with this team.
