It is rumored that the ornate palace gates of Shangri-La have finally been opened to the public for the first time in known history. The Prince is making his debut into the public eye with a brilliant gala hosted by the Prince himself: an exclusive invitation-only event attended only by the most prominent and affluent people from countries all over the world.

Some commoners have been invited to this rare event--but not as guests. The Prince's most trusted advisor has particularly collected special operatives to patrol the event: the world's brightest, swiftest, and most skilled. You will be entrusted with making sure that everything goes off without a hitch. But there are those who would rather see the event go down in flames, along with the Prince himself.

Five minutes before the event is scheduled to start, a report of a most alarming nature reaches the operatives' ears. There has been a breach in the ranks. Some spies have infiltrated the group! But since they have never seen each other's faces, there is no way to tell whose allegiance is true. The team has been compromised, but there is still a chance to save the evening.

The operatives' job this evening is to make sure the Prince's gala goes off without a hitch. If he is pleased at the end of the night, they will be rewarded handsomely. Sources say he is forgiving of small mishaps, but when pushed too far...

The Prince's reputation is at stake. Will his gala be a phenomenal success, or will it succumb to the sabotage of the spies? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

Just got back from a full day out, sorry if I was holding anything up.

Looks like this game is shaping up to start the way the last game did, with me being first leader and getting similar powers. To avoid the speculation involved with 2 people knowing everything that almost sunk us last game, I think I'm going to change my strategy up slightly and spread the intel around a little.

I'll choose to ESTABLISH CONFIDENCE with Andiyana, to get her involved in her first game. I'll give OVERHEARD CONVERSATION to Vulkie, for the same reason. Lastly, NO CONFIDENCE is a bad card to fall into spy hands (as we learned last game), so I'll keep it for myself. I'll hold my team proposal until Andi knows I'm Resistance for sure and Vulkie decides who to overhear.

Serges has chosen to keep NO CONFIDENCE for himself.

Serges has chosen to give his ESTABLISH CONFIDENCE ability to Andiyana. Andiyana will receive a PM from me revealing the allegiance of Serges.

Serges has chosen to give his OVERHEARD CONVERSATION ability to Vulkie. Vulkie, please post here which player you would like to use this ability on.

Andiyana and Vulkie are both free to post what has been revealed to them after they receive the information.

At that point Serges can make his proposal for Mission 1, Team 1.

I would like to use the OVERHEARD CONVERSATION on Mr. Adam Carter

A little bird in my ear whispered that Mr. Adam Carter belongs to the Resistance. So we know he's a safe bet ^_0

That's weird that Serges would give those cards to two people who haven't played before so we have nothing to go on with how they play, etc.....

Interesting.

Not so much the one he gave to you. More like revealing his identity to Andi, instead of like biggie or me who generally don't trust him :-D

I reserve judgment until the first vote. However, he looks shifty. But that might just be his face. And the eyeliner.

I looked at some other options on how to to deploy those powers. If I did it the same way I did it last game, I risk getting into another situation where half the players have nothing to go on but my word. If I give it to you or Biggie, you're the 9th/ 10th person on the list, and have the least likely chances at leadership coming up; seems a little wasted. Giving it to my wife? Yeah, there won't be any speculation there ...

I kept NO CONFIDENCE because it was the most surefire way that it wouldn't fall into spy hands. I gave Andi ESTABLISH CONFIDENCE because I was between her and Andrew, and it came down to who I knew better. And giving OVERHEARD CONVERSATION to Vulkie was a matter of picking a new player somewhere in the middle of the pack, to suss out how Vulkie would respond about revealing an allegiance.

In any event, I'm still waiting for Andi to clear my good name. If she doesn't, then at least I know one of the spies.

However, we'll take me and Andi out of the equation for this mission proposal, since the Resistance "usually" wins mission 1 anyway. I'll propose a team of:

Molly Maltese (next leader to propose)
Vulkie3
Adam Carter

Reason being, if Vulkie was lying about Adam, then they're both spies and in an awkward position in this mission.

Once Andi clears me, mission 2 will be that much better off.
