People of Sleuthville, lend me your ears!
I call out now to all you tomb-raiders and treasure seekers! To those who love the thrill of a good treasure hunt!

In the spirit of friendly competition i propose a challenge.
This challenge will require 10 adventurous detectives to be split onto 2 Teams, each team consisting of 5 members, in 2 newly made Agencies of my own making in NY.

These two agencies will compete against each other in Treasure Hunts.
The first team to get their agency to 7,000 Fame wins:

$200,000 Prize to be split among the team evenly.
(Working out to $40,000 a piece for each teammate...not too shabby huh?)
Also each team after the contest ends will vote amongst themselves on who alone among their team was MVP (someone who went above and beyond, did a really excellent job, etc) The MVP's from Both teams will win a 3 month gift subscription from me personally.
You also win bragging rights and honor for your home agencies on being an awesome treasure hunter.
Whether your team chooses single or multi-city hunt strategy is entirely up to you.

Obviously this competition will run for a while, (I'm venturing a guess at anywhere between 2 weeks to a month depending on how luck smiles on you or how good you and your teammates are).

It goes without saying that you would be required to resign temporarily from whatever agency you are currently in to join my competing agencies for the contest. You are allowed to enter an alternate detective if you wish if you're too attached to have your main detective leave your agency, and the only rules are:

1) Absolutely NO Password Sharing.
2) Only one entry per contestant
3) Have fun.

I want to know who among you treasure hunters really has what it takes to come together and co-ordinate as a team to truly be the best.

(Cont'd)

Squirrelly, I thought the EXACT SAME THING when I read this lol. This is something you would read on Shades.

BTW.... do you even GET anything for winning this contest? Is there some sort of massive grand prize at the end that it is so cutthroat?

I think it's bragging rights. And some sleuth cash.

OK Adam. Seems totally worth upsetting a bunch members of the community and leaving the game over and stuff. *shocked face*

Squirrelly, I also apologize if the old Nic is coming back. I'm trying, but it's hard. :-)

Guys, I really don't know how best to handle this...I just know that this isn't it.

I consider Em my friend too and I am deeply sorry for her feelings being hurt. Those of you directly involved in this matter know I am doing my best to quiet the rabble and fix this, internally on Raiders and in private with the pertinent members of Al Q. Toohey, as it should be handled.

This is just going to degenerate, and it'll become a problem that without an easy solution as it comparatively is right now if this keeps up. So lets all take a breather and back away slowly from the message board, okay?

*cough* I'm in the process of putting a new Resistance game up, if anyone needs a place for conspiracy theories...

too soon?

I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in the poor sportsmanlike behavior that I'm seeing thus far people I expected MUCH better and I'm doubtful I'll even WANT to host another contest like this I if this is only day TWO in a two week contest Emma I'm sort, nic I NEVER wanted other agencies to stay away from hunts this is not shades I made it very clear as amber pointed out that other agencies were expected to give the teams a run for their money. I'm honestly so very disappointed and angry right now.

This is absurd.

Apparently expressing frustration within one's own agency is not permitted, so for breaching that unspoken rule, I apologize. As I said to Jonny in message, I don't even know who is IN any other agencies at this point, and can hardly be accused of singling anyone out. Emma, specifically, though I don't know you, I'm sorry if anything I said, that had nothing whatsoever to do with you, hurt your feelings. That was not my intent, and the couple of friends I have here should know me well enough by now to know I wouldn't do that.

That said, I'm done. I am about 30 years too old for drama like this. Best to you all.

Ok, the drama that this turned into is really ridiculous.

First of all, I apologize for even commenting to start this crazy snowball. I also apologize if all of that turned into pointing the finger at Emma. That was not the intention.

2 days ago, when this game started, I had asked Jason to address the fact that many players have 1 or more additional players in other agencies. As there was little to no discussion on this, I suggested it be addressed since it could be looked on by members of both teams if those same people were involved in their agencies in any form. Personally, if I had more than one detective and was involved in a friendly competition like this, I'd just play this competition. I couldn't care less about the status and progress of my other agency as there are enough people there to keep things going by themselves. Plus it's for two weeks and I decided to join this game instead. But again, that is just me. Jason didn't think it was an issue, and let it go.

It wasn't about other agencies doing TH's. I'm not even sure how that even got mixed up into all this craziness.

The bottom line is, apparently it was an issue that should have been addressed further before this competition even started. And in the end, 2 people have dropped out. One has left Sleuth completely. And instead of communicating like adults it has just turned into a lot of useless head bumping.

The jab at the beginning was just that, a knock at the Crusaders. It wasn't aimed at Al Q. Or Em. Fine, under the circumstances it was probably in bad taste. Believe me, I have already heard an earful from Fille on this whole thing.
