Once again, turmoil is brewing in the underground crime world of New York. The city is slowly being taken over by La Cosa Nostra, the New York underground mafia. They are recruiting members at record numbers and they can be seen in every night club and bar scaring away customers. And now Joseph Hollis, the High Philosopher of the Order of Socrates, and mayor of New York, has learned of a secret plan by his rival faction, La Cosa Nostra, to go on a crime spree and make off with money, valuables, and ultimate control of various establishments in New York.

Mr. Hollis, being not only concerned with the livelihoods of the patrons of his city, but also with his rival faction gaining too much power, has decided to put together a team of trusted Order of Socrates resistance operatives to foil the plans of La Cosa Nostra. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of attrition lately, and certain people have been going to the highest bidder to offer their services as a spy working from within the Order of Socrates. Joseph is aware of this and he's put together the best possible team he can think of, but unwittingly will be inviting some spies for La Cosa Nostra to his team of operatives.

As long as the loyal Order of Socrates operatives can figure out whom amongst them is untrustworthy, their mission should be a success. But if they trust the wrong people, La Cosa Nostra will succeed and cause severe damage to the New York economy, while gaining enough power to take over the city.

Will the mayor and his team be able to restore order to New York? Or will the underground mafia, take over the city's resources? That's for you to decide in this version of The Resistance: Order of Socrates Restores Order

That, my dear, is a QUICK leap to assume. Like, SUPER quick.

Eden is going to confirm my identity soon enough, I imagine.

What do you suggest as an alternative, by the way... if you were in my shoes, what would you have done? I basically put Eden and myself in mutual assurance of each other, since I could only pick from 2 people to overhear. Also, I picked him over whoever was at the bottom of the list because he is going to be leader next and I want to be confident I know where he stands.

As it stands, we all know putting 2 or more spies on a mission is dangerous for the spies to remain hidden; why in the world would I intentionally do that in mission 1 if I were a spy?

Fact is, I'm Resistance. And now, I'm concerned for Illicit's allegiance because she leapt so quickly to an accusation.

Sorry guys. I messed up. Rookie game master mistake. Because we are playing with 10 people, THREE cards are actually given to the first leader of each mission. Therefore Serges gets another power to distribute:

*digs into Glad tupperware container*

- OPEN UP - The recipient of this ability will have their allegiance revealed to a player of their choosing.

So Serges, what say you? Who will you give this card to?

Ah sir but I as an experienced player know that the best thing to do is to get in the early mission as a spy but play a Victory card. You come up clean and people are lulled into a false sense of security. Also, as you know I love accusing you of being a spy lol. Frankly sir I see no reason to change my thinking on this because again if you are a spy forced to reveal your identity to another why would you choose anyone other than a spy. Additionally, if you are able as a spy to have someone reveal themselves to you it makes the most sense to throw people off another spy's trail.

The part of nicnic in this game will be played by me...maybe

I'm not going to amend my player proposal... I'll give OPEN UP to Illicit, and ask her to show me her allegiance. She doesn't HAVE to show me, I know, but I'd feel a lot better if I knew where she stood after that accusation.

I was considering Ms. Helen since she's on the mission, but even IF she's a spy, I still think this mission is going through. I'd rather clear the air with Illicit early rather than have finger-pointing between (potentially) two Resistance players.

Umm also I may or may not have forgotten that you could only choose from two people on that one card and may now have to withdraw my awesome but possibly erroneous accusations and should PROBABLY only post after getting some sleep....

Serges has chosen to give the OPEN UP ability to Illicit. At this time Illicit may choose who to reveal her allegiance to. After she posts, the person she chooses will receive a PM from me revealing her allegiance.

This is working out BIG for the Resistance early on!
Eden came up as Resistance, and so did Illicit!
Adding me in the mix, and we have a solid core of Resistance players that should be on EVERY mission in the game.

Still, not changing this mission team because even though I know me, Illicit and Eden would be a guaranteed success, I want to do a bit of fact-finding if I can on Ms. Helen, as well as see how votes break down.

Again, mission team is me, Eden, and Ms. Helen.
